TribalWar, often abbreviated TW, is an online community that originally focused on the game Starsiege: Tribes - a team-based online multiplayer first person shooter, and its subsequent sequels. TribalWar was started on December 6, 1999, by Anthony "Rayn" Maio, Jon "Ratorasniki" Naiman and Johnny "Imposter" Titus. The website has since expanded its news coverage to general gaming due to the financial failure of the most recent Tribes game, Tribes: Vengeance, the presumed end to the Tribes franchise.
The most popular feature of TribalWar's website is our message board. TW has just over 7 million posts and approximately 15,800 members, and uses a heavily modified version of vBulletin.

C++Programmers

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/group/cprogrammers/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

 A place where C++ programmers gather, share code,
Description::

What if Garage Games consulted the wider GGE community on the design of its next game? From the type of genre to art-style, the community would have a say in how this "game experiment" could take shape, and would be a chance to do what everyone here really wants...to design games! :)

Okay obviously not everyone is going to have the same idea and the design process could get messy. So one way to accomplish this would be for interested people to submit ideas on a new purpose built "Game Experiment" section of the GGE, the staff at Garage Games would pick the most appropriate and unique concepts and ask the public to vote, asking for more ideas with every step of the design process - from how many players to the level design. Users could even contribute with the music and art with various competitions deciding the "winner" of each category. It would have to be very hands on for the community to be a part of the process and it could take years for anything to emerge - but I think it will definitely get people interested and even excited.

The above is just a rough idea of what would need to be done for the idea to succeed, but I can imagine a lot of people liking and wanting to be a part of it, possibly leading to a much larger community.
