It's a tetris-like game with more shapes. It's a free game and it's available for download now. The game is in French and English. To change language you must go in options in the main menu.

Lumines

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/lumines/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Another puzzle game that revolves around blocks - however, this is no Tetris clone. Stack blocks up and form squares of the same color. This might seem a little dull at first, but as you play through the game you will unlock "skins" - each with their own special musical and graphical style.

DUOtris

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/duotris/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

DUOtris is a take on Tetris (GB). Instead of blocks coming from the top, and fall down, blocks come from both top and bottom, and gravitate towards the middle.

The aim of the game is to get the highest score possible. Points are scored by moving the falling blocks on both sides of the play area so as to arrange 3 or more blocks of the same colour together. These blocks will then disappear causing any blocks "above" them to fall and possibly create further combinations. The game ends when either stack of blocks crosses the game over line. Over time the speed of the blocks increases, more colours are introduced and the play area becomes narrower.

There are two different game modes: Classic where there are just blocks falling, and Arcade where you get powerups and special blocks.

CrashBlock

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/crashblock/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Crashblock is a platform puzzle game, mixing puzzle elements from Tetris and platform elements of Flashback.

The aim of the game is to play a game of tetris from the inside, running around the arena, climbing over the fallen blocks, trying to complete a line whilst trying to collect enough stars to advance to the next level and collecting coins and other items to boost your score and help you along the way. There are hazards to overcome, Bombs are released from completed lines along with bonus items and stars, also captive creatures called meanies are released making your task so much more difficult.

If the blocks pile up to the top of the arena, it's game over. If a falling block lands on you, it's squishy death, if you're caught in a bomb blast, it's goodnight and if you're caught by a meanie, it's so long and thanks for all the limbs.

You have to control the crane holding the current shape by calling it over to you, rotating the shape to the correct position and then diving out of the way while it falls.. there is no controlled drop in this game, oh no!

This game is currently under development for the Pascal Game Development 2007 Competition, The end deadline is the 3rd of June 2007. Check back often for updates.

Hexaxis XXI

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/hexaxis/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Hexaxis XXI is an addictive dice based puzzle game. If you enjoy Lumines, or Bombastic, you are in for a treat. More complicated than both games combined but so intuitive once you learn the simple techniques. Line up the dice by the number of the sides, 2 two's, 3 three's,all the way to 6 sixes. Combos 'wipe out' when the wipe line crosses over them. Try your hardest not to drop a 1 as it will flip the screen around and usually happens when you are nearing the top of the grid! Simple as Dice? Think again!
It's very easy to learn and great fun to play! The object of the game is to drop the colored balls into the holes located near the four corners of the play area. The ball then rolls into the sloped arena and lays to rest towards the center. If four balls of the same color are touching, they're removed from the game!

As the levels progress, the number of different balls increases making it more difficult to create color groups. With no time penalties you can play the game at your own pace. The controls are very easy to master; this is a most relaxing game for all ages!

Phit

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/phit/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

This game is half tangram and half tetris in it's workings.
