Taking place from a side-on perspective the game features many elements of both platform and action games. The game focuses around the day/night cycle, hence the name, where the player scavenges supplies during the day when zombies are less common, then returns to base at night to defend from the zombie hordes. This game was made for the 2007 Nullarbor game development competition.

Left 4 Dead

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/left4dead/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

I know what you're thinking, "Not another zombie survival game!" well, this game is different from all those other games. You play as either four survivors that try to go from Point A to Point B, or you have the choice to play as one of the many zombie bosses. Now you may think this will get repetitive in time, but that's not true. The gameplay is different every time you play. Now this game heavily depends on teamwork, if you stroll along by yourself, your going to most certainly die. Weapon choice is simple, you can use MP5's to Uzis. The story is that the in a city have been infected with a sort of rabies that have turned them into zombies. These zombies aren't slow, they're fast and have the ability to climb fences. Oh, I forgot friendly fire is always on, so don't be trigger happy, and also don't jump right in front of your teammates expecting you won't get hurt, because you will. Why is friendly fire always on? The fact is, it makes the game more challenging. If there was no friendly fire, the game would too easy and would be a breeze to finish.

GunMaster Onslaught 2.0

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/gmo2/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Survive the onslaught for as long as you can. You are an elite commando, with access to multiple weapons. In addition to your standard rifle, you have a rocket launcher, shotgun, grenades, and mines. As you run and jump across the map, more and more soldiers will come after you. First soldiers will just run on to the map. However, they will eventually begin to parachute into the battlefield, and call in snipers as well. Survive for as long as you can while racking up the kills and headshots.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/resident-evil3/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Playstation World said,
...the baddest, goriest, most hardcore action game on the PlayStation to date.
