Collect ingredients to gain abilities and become the ultimate falafel.

Single screen, free-roaming gameplay, with an emphasis on exploration and gameplay progression.

This first episode will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. 5-6 if you know where you're going. 3 episodes are planned, which will be compiled into one story.

Originally this game was started as an entry for a Retro Remakes competition.

Prism

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/prism/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

NB: Currently seeking a publisher/funding to realise the full game.

Prism is an action adventure platform game featuring a character comprised of two contrasting software systems; a creative artificial intelligence and a restrictive algorithm. Roaming from level to level to neutralise viruses in a corrupted server network, Routine404 is able to take three principle forms: Biped Mode, Jet Mode and Pure Mode.

It is also possible for Routine404 to take the form of its enemies in later stages of the game after being subjected to enemy code. The game world takes place across 7 nodes of the server network. Each node is split into rooms called cells, and each node is joined by a vertical scrolling shoot-em up section where Routine404 is in Jet Mode throughout.

Some levels begin with 3D cut scene animation for storytelling purposes, and some actions such as opening doors or defeating end-of-level enemies trigger short 3D animated clips.

As the player progresses through the game, an increased effort is made to draw the player's attention to his/her interaction with the game. The purpose of which is to generate a perspective of self reference; one that encourages the player to question their role within the game, and the role of the game (and interactive media as a whole) in their life.

The climax of the game reveals that the enemy and hero are one and the same; both created for the purpose of storytelling by a force that remains elusive.

The reward for completion of the game is a generative level; one that is created dynamically at run time for the player to obtain a high score among a community of players.

Walt The Wizard

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/walt-the-wizard/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Walt the Wizard is a fun for the whole family platform game. It mixes cute graphics, and a powerful storyline, and a great soundtrack to create a game well worth playing.

When a group of strangers turn up at the local Tavern, rumours start to fly. Stories of great battles, and dark spirits spreat. Enter into the world of Walt, and save this beautiful world.

This game is currently under development, with more content planned for this page. If you waould like to see it, or play a little demo, then send Scotley (me) a message, I have a small working level, but it needs too much work to post here.

Rthegame

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/Rthegame/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

R is a twisted psycho-philosophical platform/puzzle/action/adventure game created from Michal Marcinkowski's discussions with Dolny sometime in 2004 and 2005. The game is not finished and never will be.
There are whole sections of the game not done, missing graphics, animations, sounds, maps and cutscenes. However the game is complete in its design and is fully playable from beginning to end.
So don't worry about the missing maps, it'll just make you finish the game faster and enjoy the magnificent ending.

Cyber-Crisis

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/cyber-crisis/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

My first platform game. I've developed an elaborate story behind our main character who is possibly the first sentient robot in human history. It's just too bad that the fallout of his coming brought a devastating war that rocked all of mankind and now about 4 decades years later once again threatens to finish the human race.

Pazzesco

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/pazzesco/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

 The game stars a... thing...
The rest of the storyline is still a working progress...
The gameplay is purely adventure/platformer. There are no enemies in the game, which might scare away a lot of gamers, but its more about story, finding new items, planting seeds, and more.
What makes it unique is the fact that there is no enemies, the art is very cool, and its going to be a storyline with a lot of twists, turns, and comedy.

WARNING: there are 3 things that may come as a bit of a shock.
1- There is no sound... yet. If you have musical skills, please contact.
2-There is a glitch that I am not able to run into at all, but others have seen it. I suspect it may be because of computer specs, but either way if you see this, I'd appreciate if you took a screenshot and explain what you did.
3-There isn't much to do yet... This is more of a tech demo than a gameplay demo, but if you want to help give ideas, etc then please contact.

Nuttz

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/nuttz/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Welcome to Wonderful Woodland, squirrel! Maybe there aren't any nutts left so you can gather them for winter, but your neighbour sure has lots of them. You never really liked him, did you? Take his nutts and add them to your stash!

Nuttz is a game for two players, based on Capture The Flag. Each player controls one of insanely-quick squirrels and tries to run over to his opponents base (middle hollows), steal the nut, and stash it in his own base. You can only carry one nut at a time. If you stomp the enemy mario-like, he will be immobilized for 1 second, and will lose the nut he was carrying. From time to time, like in every normal forest, on middle-top platform spawns magical FreezeGem, which will immobilize your opponent for 5 seconds, he will not lose the nut however. You can use bottom and top hollows for quick transfers between levels. First player to get 10 nuts wins. You see amount of nuts in player1 and player2 bases in top left and top right corners respectively.

Blah Blah. Game is still in development (one reason why it's insanely fast is no framerate independency ;)). Want to add 1 or 2 more features, and then eventually totally rewrite code cause it's fugly. Nevertheless, it plays nice on my comp, and that's all that matters, right?

Ruff 'n' Tumble Remake

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/ruffntumbleremake/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

A young Ruff Rogers was happily playing with his marbles (ooohey!) in his local park. When suddenly one happened to go a stray and fall down a nearby rabbit hole. Not knowing this hole was a teleport to another dimension, he reaches down to see if he can retrieve it. To his suprise, he suddenly gets sucked into the darkness.

Ruff now dazed and confused, finds himself on an alien planet which is run by Mr evil himself, Dr Destiny. He also discovers that this mad doctor controls a fearsome army of robots called the tinheads. Furthermore, he spots his marble collection is now lying scattered throughout the planet. As you can imagine, Ruff is a little displeased with his current predicament. So with this, he makes the decision to accumulate his marble collection once more and save the planet from the evil clutches of Dr Destiny and his Tinhead Army.

A Aldeia da roupa preta e branca

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/aldeia/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

This game captures the look of old portuguese black & white movies. The story revolves around Rogerio, a local farmer who finds out that the calm place where he lives is being overrun by a bunch of kids and, after that, a summer music festival.
It is a platform game with only a few and almost harmless weapons. I tried to include a lot of humor sequences so as to not get boring.
The aim of this project is to produce an enjoyable, commercial quality title within the confines of 2D SNES style graphics. Aside from the graphical restrictions, newer breakthroughs in game design and technology will be utilized which will in the end manifest in a unique gameplay experience.

There will be several varients of gameplay available in both single player and multiplayer modes, but the staple themes featured in the game will be horror, survival and the slaughter of vast hordes of horrible monsters. The game will feature unified online multiplayer support for PC, Mac and Linux platforms and will be appropriately explody and bloody.
