You'll face neurotic yuppie parents, teachers pushed over the edge, a ghostly grandfather back from the grave, the baby-sitter from hell, a pet jumping frog on steroids and a plot to blow the city's sewer system sky high. It's chaotic, it's juvenile, it's definitely deranged and you're gonna love every minute of it.

The Incredible Machine

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/incrediblemachine/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

 From Wikipedia: Incredible Machine Article
The general objective of the games is to create a series of Rube Goldberg devices: arrange a given collection of objects in a needlessly complex fashion so as to perform some simple task (for example, "put the ball into a box" or "light a candle"). Available objects ranged from simple ropes and pulleys to electrical generators, bowling balls and even cats and mice. The levels usually have some fixed objects that cannot be moved by the player, and so the only way to solve the puzzle is carefully arrange the given objects around the fixed items. There is also a "freeform" option that allows the user to "play" with all the objects with no set goal or to also build their own puzzles with goals for other players to attempt to solve.
It put you in the cockpit of a BattleMech and sent you on a number of randomly generated missions. The story line, which spanned over a 5 year period, went as follows:
You are Gideon Braver Vandenburg, and you are heir to your planet. However, the Chalice to give you the throne has been stolen, your family has been killed, and you are exiled. You become a BattleMech mercenary, and go to Inner Sphere to find out who destroyed your life and gain revenge.

Aces Over Europe

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/acesovereurope/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Control the sky in the sequel to Aces of the Pacific. Aces Over Europe takes place in the Western Theater of WWII, and gives you the opportunity to fly for three different countries (US, Germany, or England). There are a variety of different mission types, and they can be played in either campaign or single mission mode. Each side had it's own campaign mode, and there were many different planes to choose from.

Sid & Al's Incredible Toons

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/incredibletoons/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Sid & Al's Incredible Toons is a funnier, cartoon version of The Incredible Machine. It is your job to solve 100 Rube Goldberg style puzzles by placing pieces in the right spot. The puzzle goals range from letting Al E. Cat(haha) catch Sid Mouse, helping Sid reach his cheese, or simply blowing one of the characters up.

Sid and Al aren't the only characters in the game, however. They are joined by other cartoons such as Eunice the Elephant and Bik the Dragon. Each character acts as a different puzzle piece and is used in a different way. Eunice, for example, will toss things that hit her trunk, while Bik will blow fire any time something hits him.

There are a variety of different objects used to solve the puzzles, and they range from realistic to cartoony. There are conveyor belts and pullies to get things where you want them, but there are also guns which will cough out bullets. Once you master all 100 puzzles, there is also a create-a-puzzle mode where you can make your own crazy contraptions to stump your friends.

3-D Ultra Pinball

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/3dultrapinball/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

3-D Ultra Pinball ventures where no pinball table has gone before. The basics of the game are like any normal pinball table. You have flippers and you have to hit the ball into bumpers and certain areas to get points. However, 3-D Ultra Pinball goes beyond what a standard pinball table can do. Lasers will shoot your ball, ships will pick it up and take it places, and tanks will attack it. There is also a goal for you to eventually build a spaceship by completing certain parts of the tables.

3-D Ultra Pinball: Creep Night

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/creepnight/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Creep Night is the sequel to the original 3-D Ultra Pinball. The theme in Creep Night is cartoon horror as opposed to the original's "Outpost" theme. There are three tables to play on consisting of a castle, laboratory, and dungeon. Creep Night is different than most pinball games because things happen in it that could never happen in real life. Zombies will come up from the dead and have to be put back down with the ball, or goblins will try to steal the ball. There are even bonus mini games that the ball can be warped to in order to get more points. There is a single table mode as well as an all inclusive mode where the player can be sent from board to board as they beat them.

Johnny Castaway

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/johnnycastaway/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Johnny Castaway may not be a game, but it is more than just an ordinary screen saver. The screen saver tells the story of Johnny, a man stranded on a desert island. Normally, he will just sit around, read, sleep, and fish. However, there are many special events that will happen over time. Pirates will come to the island, he meets a mermaid, and he may even try to do a rain dance to battle the heat.

A lot of the events that occur are based upon the computer's system clock. For example, there is a pumpkin on the island around Halloween and christmas decorations in December. As the screen saver progresses, certain animations will reveal more about the story. Eventually, the story is revealed and it is shown why Johnny is stranded on the island. There are so many different events that happen during the screen saver that people are still documenting them and believe they can still find more.

Hunter Hunted

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/hunterhunted/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

"The Masters" have taken two combatants from around the universe and placed them in a battle against each other for their enjoyment. There are stops along the race where you must answer science questions relating to the location (eg. questions about sound at the rock concert). The more expensive transportation gets you to the next stop faster so you can beat your opponents.
This is Battle Bugs. A game of military strategy where insect troops rage across tabletops and storm junk food targets. Standing in their way are legions of enemy bugs, armed to the teeth. You-and your battle smarts-guide your troops to glory. Will your armada of spiders cross the cola lake in time to save the flag?
