It was published in Japan by Square, in North America by Square Electronic Arts, in continental Europe by Infogrames, and in the United Kingdom and Australasia by Square Europe. It was the last original game in the Final Fantasy series to be produced for the PlayStation. The game was developed alongside Final Fantasy VIII, but took a completely different path in line with fans' requests to return to the series roots via castles and other allusions to games in the series. Final Fantasy IX introduced new features to the series, such as the Active Time Event, Mognet, and a revamped equipment and skill system.

Set in the fantasy world Gaia, Final Fantasy IX's plot centers on a war between two nations, sparked by an ambitious queen. Players follow a young thief named Zidane, who joins with the others to defeat the Queen. Soon after embarking on their quest, they discover that the queen's campaign is a cover up for a greater plot involving a parallel world and Zidane's past.

Final Fantasy X

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/finalfantasyx/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Final Fantasy X is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix. It is the tenth installment in the Final Fantasy series and the first game of the series to be released on the Sony PlayStation 2. Introduced in 2001, it was once among the top twenty best-selling console games of all time. It was also voted by the readers of the Japanese video game magazine Famitsu to be the greatest video game of all-time.[2] Set in the fantasy world of Spira, the game's story centers around a group of adventurers and their quest to defeat a rampaging force known as "Sin".

The game marks the Final Fantasy series' transition from entirely pre-rendered backdrops to fully three-dimensional areas, achieved with the PlayStation 2’s Emotion Engine processor. Though pre-rendered backgrounds are not entirely absent, their use has been restricted to less vibrant locations, such as building interiors.[3] Final Fantasy X is the first in the series to feature a wide range of realistic facial expressions, as well as other technological developments in graphical effects achieved, such as variance in lighting and shadow from one section of a character's clothing to the next.[4] Final Fantasy X is also the first in the series to feature voice-over actors, as well as the first to spawn a direct sequel, Final Fantasy X-2.

Final Fantasy X introduces other significant advances in the Final Fantasy series. For instance, because of the implementation of voice-overs, scenes in the game are paced according to the time taken for dialogue to be spoken,[4] whereas previous games in the series incorporated scrolling subtitles. Final Fantasy X features changes in world design, with a focus placed on realism. The gameplay makes a significant departure from past games as well, incorporating several new elements.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/ffvxiii/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Final Fantasy Versus XIII part of th Fabula Nova Crystallis series and will be an Action game for the Playstation 3 Console. Very little information about the game has been released of now except that it will be on the PSP. It seems that the game will mainly focus around Zack, a 1st Class SOLDIER and Cloud Strife while he is a lowly Shinra Guard. Another character also present in the game is Aerith Gainsborough as her voice is heard in the trailer of the game. This game appears to take place around the events of Nibelheim outlined in Last Order -Final Fantasy VII-.

Fortress Forever

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/fortressforever/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Fortress Forever is an unreleased Half-Life 2 mod that uses the game's Source Engine. The intended scope of Fortress Forever is to please the adamant Team Fortress Classic fans, while at the same time creating a game enjoyable enough to players new to Team Fortress styled games.
