The game is set in an alternate history. Albert Einstein goes back in time, with a time machine, he grabs Hitler, and they beam away somewhere, you learn later that WW2 never happened, but the Soviet Union grew quite powerful and a war was inevitable

Some of the new features you'll see in Red Alert are the graphic updates, they are absolutely stunning. The upgrade over C&C TD, really blows your mind.

The ability to fight in the air and at sea has been added to the game, something really not seen in gaming before this.

A simple, easy to use map editor was included in the game, and if i could use it at my young age back then, it must be good, trust me.

A great prequel to C&C, a legendary classic, and a must have.
The Mystics hold a meeting, and The Hand (a giant glove serving as Marko's assistant) formulates a plan, which requires a magic anchor stone from the center of the world. He chooses Zanthia to be the one who shall recover the stone. As it turns out, however, the quest for the anchor stone is a wild goose chase, used by The Hand to distract Zanthia and the other Mystics while it enacts its evil deeds. Gladstone was not largely affected by the chaos that swept the Southern continent, and only learned of the scope of the crisis after the return of the mystic Dawn to the keep.

It is not known exactly when the Draracle departed from the Lands. Either as a result of his departure, or as a continued condition of his absence from the Lands - something has gone horribly wrong. An inexplicable shifting in the fabric of reality has caused Portals, or gateways, to appear at random locations across the Lands. Although centered on the Northern continent of Gladstone, the phenomenon is having repercussions throughout the realm.

Unfamiliar and powerful creatures have begun to emerge from the Portals. Although reports are only beginning to come in, there is concern that this limited activity will escalate. In some areas, the Portals are causing a transformation of the surrounding landscape. The inhabitants of these areas are also apparently subject to the Portals mutative properties.

In the wake of an attack by a group of these other-worldly creatures, your father Eric, brother to King Richard and heir to the throne of Gladstone, has been slain, along with both of his legitimate children. You barely managed to escape the attack, but as a result, you have been stripped of your soul. The Ancient magic of the mystic Dawn is protecting you. Without her sorcery, your soulless death would result in a painful and unavoidable eternity. You are now the sole heir to the Throne of Gladstone. Your soul is somewhere beyond the Portals, and its recovery would seem impossible.

The crisis of the Portals looms large in the Lands. Something must be done. Some would say that only an Ancient power would be capable of reversing the polarity of the Portals and closing them forever. Someone must pass through the gateways and find the departed Draracle, who may be the final hope for Gladstone, and for all of the Lands.

Malcolms Revenge

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/malcolm/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

After Malcolm's defeat against Brandon in the first game, Malcolm had been turned into a statue, but after having been struck by lightning, he was liberated from the spell. Malcolm then decides to take his revenge upon Brandon and Kallak, helped by his evil conscience, Gunther. Even though he lost his powerful magic, Malcolm decides to use his malicious wit and cunning to go through with his revenge. Released in 1992, Dune II proved to be successful with gamers and critics alike due to its addictive playability and innovative game design - the gameplay has been emulated many times since. Dune II led the huge upsurge in popularity the genre has enjoyed right up until this day and is considered to be the Godfather of real-time strategy games.

The plot consists of three waring parties named House Atreides, House Harkonnen and House Ordos. All are vying for control of the most important planet in the known universe - Arrakis, better known as Dune. The planet Arrakis contains the only known source of the valuable and essential spice called Melange. Melange is the primary resource collected in-game and it funds the war effort of each house - the more spice one possesses, the more successful one becomes.

The game is played from a top-down perspective and can be controlled entirely by mouse. The aim is to build an army of a big enough size to seize land, eliminate any opposing threat and ultimately expand your dynasty. Each map contains spice deposits that need to be collected via harvesters. The spice is then transported to a refinery and tuned into credits, which can then be spent on the expansion of base and the construction of more units. As the game progresses more technologically advanced units and structures become available, changing the dynamics of the battlefield.

The game was re-made twice by Westwood though only the original was ported to the Sega Mega Drive, Amiga, Archimedes and Risc PC range of RISC OS computers.
