It'll be playable in your browser with no downloadable client required. It utilizes Adobe's Shockwave Player, which most browsers already have installed.

When asked, what does the game closely resemble (because we all need comparisons, right?), I usually say it's an MMO Social Game with a bit of a mix of Nintendo's Animal Crossing and The Sims.

Every building you see in the above screen shots will be inhabited by players and you'll be able to do a variety of activities around town. We're implementing a very intuitive social system that hasn't been done before to our knowledge. I'm personally very excited about this game so far and I can't wait for players to get their hands on it.

Two Worlds combines the extremely dynamic and sophisticated combat system with the meaning and freedom of exploration exceeding the accomplishments of other games of the genre.
A top quality Role Playing experience - the ultimate goal of the Two Worlds project is to deliver a superior Role Playing Game to the PC and Xbox 360 market where players have a real chance to shape the game world with their actions - to an extent that has yet to seen in other productions. This premise will be supported with a strong, non-linear storyline, mind blowing graphics, and stunning combat sequences. To attract the mass audience, the complexity of the game will be achieved mainly through a variety of meaningful choices while the User Interface will be simplified.

Exciting, spectacular and challenging combat - The combat system is easy to handle and the number of possible choices encourage experimenting with different styles and skills. Great visuals and dynamic choreography ensures the most exciting experience.

Strong sense of purpose and meaning - Two Worlds supports meaningful play. The dynamics of the game world allows for dramatic changes such as: taking over cities by various factions, overthrowing kings, eradicating entire organizations and much more.

Unconstrained freedom to experiment - the game promotes the ability to freely roam and explore the game world. Players will find their own way to beat challenges, solve problems and complete quests and will also be rewarded by different factions accordingly for the results of their actions.

The great latitude

The most visible aspect of the Two Worlds gameplay is the freedom to change the world and shape the story within it. Other important features are unlimited character development and exciting, spectacular combat. The player is encouraged to experiment with the world, test the results of good and evil deeds and find the most satisfying way to deal with challenges. The gameplay has been designed to evoke the long-term outcomes that are important to the player and offer them the power to change their state. The rush of adrenaline accompanying frequent combat situations will ensure short-term, powerful motivation to continue the current session of play.

The game offers a unique opportunity to influence the game world - unseen, to this scale, in other Role Playing games. Freedom of choice (like freedom to join or betray various organizations) and the importance of every decision are the core mechanisms to evoke the sense of meaningful play.

Depending on the way that a problem is solved, the player gains or loses their reputation in certain organizations, various options are being closed or opened, quests are offered and new locations are unlocked. For example, a player must decide whether to help a city hold off the invasion of orcs or to secretly open the gates and let the invaders in. The latter decision will result in an onslaught and the take over of the city by the barbaric hordes. The next time the player visits this location, it will be populated and managed by orcs, unless the human army arrives and tries to liberate the city. The world lives its own life, but the player has the power to change it. The challenge lies in finding the right "strings" and skilfully "pulling" them

Platforms

Two Worlds is being developed for the PC and Xbox 360 platforms. The game's complexity, dynamics and mechanisms have been designed to appeal to both markets and the steering takes advantage of mouse and game-pad features alike.

The Warriors Path

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/twp/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Audition: Online Dance Battle

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/auditiononline/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

You're on the dance floor,
One thing we always hear from Sims players is, "Wouldn't it be cool if the other Sims in the game were controlled by other real people?"

The Sims Online is an online world where the Sims are real. You get to be yourself or whoever you want to be. In this world you have your own piece of land to do with as you please. So, you can create a house, coffee bar, dance club, museum or whatever else you can imagine. You can explore the neighborhoods around you and meet other real Sims along the way. You'll also be able to develop a network of real Sim friends to enhance your power, wealth, reputation and social standing.

The Sims Online is a massive online world that you can access at any time. You interact with the world through one Sim that you develop over time. Everything that you buy, build or create will be there when you return.

The Sims placed you in control of an entire neighborhood of Sims. In The Sims Online, players create up to three Sims but only control one at a time, meaning that the relationship between a player and their Sim is much closer. The game not only makes it possible for Sims to leave their house but there is a whole user-created world to explore. Not only can each player build a house for their Sim and have friends over to visit, they can also invite friends to move in. The economic and social interaction system is built to take advantage of having thousands of real people playing. The game incorporates text chat, instant messaging and a wide variety of new gestures for your Sim to use when communicating with other Sims.
Set in a world known as Agon, it features six playable races. Humans, Dwarves and the elven Mirdain maintain generally friendly terms among themselves, while Orks and the wolf-like Mahirim, although not quite so amicable, usually aren't hostile to each other. The same cannot be said of the Alfar, pale outcasts who openly loathe all but their own kind.

The character development system is intended to allow for a high degree of customization, offering a vast array of skills and spells. The objective, an appealing one to many observers, is to make it possible for players to follow virtually any type of career path they might want, becoming a de facto explorer, hunter, mercenary, smith, magician, fisherman or almost anything else by making the appropriate choices, with optional prestige classes such as Paladin, Assassin, Gladiator, Enchanter also available. Based on Games Workshop's popular Warhammer fantasy war game, WAR features next generation Realm vs. Realm (RvR) game play that will immerse players in a world of perpetual conflict.

Upon entering WAR, players must determine their allegiance and join an Army. Those inclined towards the side of good may fight for the Armies of Order as an obstinate Dwarf, noble High Elf, or loyal human soldier of the Empire. Those inclined towards darker deeds may side with the sinister Armies of Destruction as a savage Greenskin (Orc or Goblin), corrupt Dark Elf, or marauding human worshipper of Chaos.

RvR combat takes place on three fronts where ancient foes wage an unending war Dwarfs vs. Greenskins, High Elf vs. Dark Elf, and Empire vs. Chaos. Players begin the game fighting their ancestral enemy, but are free to journey to other fronts to help their allies in their ongoing struggles.

The ultimate goal in RvR combat is the sacking of an enemy's capital city. To do this, an army must invade and take control of the opposition's homeland. Deciding battles take place on objective-based battlefields and in instanced scenarios - point-balanced battles that make use of NPC mercenaries known as Dogs of War.

For the first time, WAR's RvR system integrates both Player vs. Player (PvP) combat and Player vs. Environment (PvE) quests on the same map. Every aspect of the game, including PvE missions, is geared towards the greater war in some important way. However, players are not required to participate in PvP combat, and may aid in the RvR war effort and enjoy the game in its entirety via PvE content.

Drawing from a quarter century of highly detailed source material, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning will bring Games Workshop's fantasy world to life in a way that will allow players to create characters destined for great deeds and glory on the field of battle.

Element Online

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/element/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Element is a platform MMORPG project. They gathered and agreed to create Roika Mainland; their new world. They created water and the earth, animals and plants as well as Humans. At this time, and at all times in Roika Mainland, it is a time of peace.

After years of peace, the God's decided to leave Roika Mainland and create a new world. With this, in an attempt to maintain the golden age of Roika mainland the Gods of Lais handed all of the secrets of the land as well as the core part of the revolution-genesis gear over to the kind race of Dwarf. The God's only wish was that the world would remain as beautiful and peaceful as it was in their rule.

Simultaneously, to bring happiness to the race of human, the Gods created Comedian-Clown. The Comedian Clown became enraged about bringing happiness to the race of Human and split its personality into three identities; Imagination Ipuli, Shadow Shield and Chromospheres Bobor. Under the initiation of the evil Shadow Shield, the main body-Imagination Ipuli not only chased away the kind Chromospheres Bobor, but also created numerous Human attacking monsters. These monsters took away the revolution-genesis-gear of the race dwarf and developed a new Mainland; a mainland that was angrier, stronger and prepared to destroy the race of Human.

To save the mainland from chaos, the Chromospheres Bobor inherited the mystical ancient-science and black magic of Human. For the restoration of harmonious simple life, the citizens of Roika Mainland were forced to become warriors who would fight against the evil shadow Shield and uphold the wish of the God's.
What if this same artificial reality was created by sentient machines in order to keep us unaware that they are growing and harvesting us as an energy source? Now, what if someone from the real world contacted you in this artificial reality, told you of your potential to free your mind and bend space and time to your will, and agreed to train you in exchange for your agreement to one day fight back against the human-harvesting machines? Would you listen? Would you follow the white rabbit and discover just how deep the rabbit-hole goes?
The Matrix Online is a MMORPG set in the fictional universe of The Matrix, made popular by various movies and books. This MMOG features a streamlined combat system unique among MMOs, comprising attacks and special abilities which personify the Matrix world. Examples include "bullet time", "wire fu" and "systemic anomalies". Players may side with one of three factions (Zionist Humans, Exiles, or Machines) and join in the ongoing war against the other two. Missions in The Matrix Online, unlike many MMOs, are randomly generated, involved, multi-tiered undertakings which encompass such Matrix-like activities as hacking, lock-picking and disabling security devices.

The Matrix Online is praised for being the first MMORPG ever to feature a storyline delivered cinematically and in mission packs made available each week between game updates. Special live events arranged and acted out by the Sony Online Entertainment game developers also help move the storyline along. During these live events, Matrix characters such as Niobe, Morpheus, Ghost and Seraph randomly enter the game (or “jack-inâ€

A Tale in the Desert 3

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/atitd/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Ancient Egypt was a land steeped in history, achievements and wonder; a feral continent capable of turning bleak as quickly as bountiful, fallen as suddenly as fertile. Yet through it all, its robust people have woven a rich tapestry and, with the aid of a staunch belief in their almighty, overseeing gods and pharaoh, they constructed a civilization unlike any other in all antiquity. Relive a time when greatness was born not of weapons and armor, but of productivity and solidarity. Do you have what it takes to rise above the hardships you will face?

Its setting of historically real Ancient Egypt is not the only aspect which makes A Tale in the Desert III unique among MMOGs. It also lacks combat, focusing instead on socioeconomics as a path to character advancement.
