Players will have the ability to train and catch pokemon while battling other trainers online in real-time. The POL game is closely based on the original Pokemon Gameboy games, with most of the traditional elements remaining intact. The POL enviroment is completely 2D and replicates the graphics used in the original games. The POL MMORPG has the ability to support hundreds and even thousands of simultaneously connected players. This means that you will interact in a vast virtual world, with many kingdoms and quests, with players from all over the world.
POL has been a prominent part of the Pokemon fandom since 1999. Beyond providing the fundamentals of any MMORPG - a dedicated team, a fantastic forum community, and professionalism, Pokemon Online has made for itself a mission. Pokemon Online seeks to involve the community wherever possible.

Pokemon Online has proven itself to be innovative in its approaches to nearly everything - from being the first Pokemon MMORPG project to incorporating a community-driven spirit into the development of the game. This is a site where you aren''t just a fan - you''re a member. This is a community. This is where you can contribute on your own time, as much or as little as you want. The game is themed after another game which is being developed by Flagship Studios called Hellgate: London. The project was started under an unknown title as just a 2D engine. Soon after the announcement of Hellgate: London in 2005 gave Taylor Balbi the drive to turn his 2D Engine into a 2D Sidescrolling Game.

The team has been forever changing as have the graphics. The original character was only 46px tall and was replaced by the beauty you see here. The design for the game came from one principle discovery. The discovery was that Bill Roper and the gang at Flagship Studios were as big of fans of Shaun of the Dead as Taylor Balbi was. If Hellgate: London is going to have a cricket bat, so will HGL:16.

Originally the game was being created using the C Programming Language, but due to laziness and intrigue, Taylor Balbi switched his efforts over to Game Maker 6.1. The simplicity of the utility made development less of a strain while only bring one draw back, no Vista support.
We hope to create the ultimate version of Mario Kart (MK) by combining all of the best aspects into one game. We're not simply recreating one version of MK, but using the best parts of each. We want to have all the traditional weapons, characters, and maps but also bring out new weapons that make game-play interesting. We're redesigning the maps so that they keep their appeal, but truly utilize the power of the source engine. The core game engine is released under the GPL License; however, the prepackaged mod that comes with the standard installation requires that one own a copy of TA to legally play it. There is, however, an official release which uses fully free content, and there are a number of mods, both in development and released, that are also completely free to use.

Spring is being developed by the Swedish Yankspankers and the Spring community. The initial goal was to have the game run the mods and 3rd party units from Total Annihilation. This goal is now mostly complete, and the project has moved on to including additional features. The game is mainly focused around multiplayer games over the Internet or a LAN connection. There are currently no single player campaigns or missions, although there is some basic support for this through Lua scripting. There are also many skirmish AIs under development, allowing for offline play or extra players in an online game. Two skirmish AIs ship in the game package.

The Underside

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/theunderside/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

the underside is an exploration based action platformer in the vein (it's a pun~) of games like castlevania, metroid, and cave story. however, unlike most other games in this genre, the gameplay is driven more by plot than by free-roaming exploration (though the world is fully explorable).

the game's graphics and engine are (believe it or not) completely original. the game's engine is written in clickteam's multimedia fusion 2, while the graphics are done in humanbalance's graphicsgale.

the music is written by both me (arthur lee), and my close friend, j. michael brown. done in fruityloops using the 3xosc plugin as well as tweakbench's toad and peach vsts, the game's soundtrack has a real retro feel to it.
the game's plot revolves around a character named 'ip' who must escape from the underside, and maybe prevent the world from being destroyed while he's at it. the game's world, characters, plot strands, and dialogue are heavily inspired by earthbound, and are quirky, whimsical, and sometimes a little strange.

the gameplay is very fast based -- a lot more akin to games like megaman or metal slug rather than metroid or cave story in terms of pacing.

A Mini Falafel Adventure

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/falafel/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Episode 1 of a Gameboy-style platform adventure game. While TeamTerminator is known for the famous Q3 based TrueCombat series, GrooveSix Studios was initiated by retired TeamTerminator co-founder Coroner to develop a Return to Castle Wolfenstein modification that is not released. Thus, as very experienced Q3-based content creators, we hope to be able to serve the gaming community with a quality offering.
Now, the most important question: "What can you expect from TC:E?" TC:E is a tactical-team shooter, set up in a modern-world environment. TC:E puts you into the role of elite mercenary soldier in the conflicts of two internationally operating forces.
There are obstacles to explore, bits and pieces to collect and puzzles to solve -- requiring a combination of brains and collaborative teamwork. As players begin to explore, their creative skills will grow and they will be ready to start creating and modifying their surroundings -- the first step to sharing them with the whole community.

Characters have the power to move anything in this glued and stitched-together landscape; they have the power to design, shape and build both objects and entire locations for others to play.

There's no complicated level editor; all of these skills can be learnt by simply playing the game. Creativity is part of the gameplay experience and playing is part of the creative experience. Players can make their world as open or as secretive to explore as they like.

When it's ready, they can invite anyone within the LittleBigWorld community to come and explore their patch -- or can go and explore everybody else's.

Gesundheit!

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/gesundheit/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

<img style="float: left; clear: left;" src="http://static.greatgamesexperiment.com/userimages/a/ae562db0d86bcc2ac27223edafd7b458_sq.jpg" title="Gesundheit! It'll be playable in your browser with no downloadable client required. It utilizes Adobe's Shockwave Player, which most browsers already have installed.

When asked, what does the game closely resemble (because we all need comparisons, right?), I usually say it's an MMO Social Game with a bit of a mix of Nintendo's Animal Crossing and The Sims.

Every building you see in the above screen shots will be inhabited by players and you'll be able to do a variety of activities around town. We're implementing a very intuitive social system that hasn't been done before to our knowledge. I'm personally very excited about this game so far and I can't wait for players to get their hands on it.
Crush the Critters is a game of whack-a-mole for your feet (using the dance pad), your mouse or your keyboard (you cheater!).

The first beta is live!

The game has entered the first beta, which is just the Classic Mode. Some graphics still need polishing up, the sounds aren't complete, but that's what these early betas are for :) The game works, and will at least give you an idea of what's coming. Also please note that the game is more or less for kids, particularly at this stage without the humor of Adventure mode. Also please note that the game is shrunken quite a bit because of the size of the webpage! For full size play and to become an official beta tester, go to http://www.hedonismgames.com/beta/index.html

Instructions

Click the critters as they come out before they can hide again! You can also use keyboard keys, although it makes the game much easier. They are (corresponding to the screen squares)

Q W E
A ~ D (there is no middle here)
Z X C

A Foot-Tastic Adventure!

As the resident Critter Stomper, your hometown has been overcome by the imminent threat of an onslaught of cute critters! It's up to you, moving from your own town, through numerous locales and ultimately into outer space to stop the critters!

Using the typical dance pad 3x3 grid (with the exception of the middle square, of course), the player must stomp on critters as they appear on the screen.

In classic RPG sense, collect equipment (shoes, socks, shoe laces and aglets - you know, those little things that cap the end of your shoe laces?), level up and collect money through bounties and successful missions crushing the cute-but-monstrous critters.

Play is best with the dance pad, although the entire game can also be played with the mouse (great for Wii players) or the keyboard.

Classic Mode

Classic mode is just like in the arcades! Play a quick round, choosing where to crush the critters, which ones to crush, how long to play and the difficulty. When done, collect your tickets, which can be used to purchase bonuses (cheats, artwork, etc.) or printable rewards!

Awwwww... So Cute!

Crush the Critters has a fantastic artist - Ariel Marsh - who is handling all the great, cartoony style of the game.

Printable Rewards

Printable Rewards are one of the greatest things about Crush the Critters! Why just let the game sit when you're done when you can print out all sorts of things, showing off your accomplishments?

Other Features

Other great features of the game will include:

Unlockable locales (places) and critters for Classic Mode.

Playable on the Wii Opera Browser!

Cheat Modes and Challenges.

Tower Defense Extreme

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/tdextreme/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Flash Tower Defence

1)Intro, What is a TD ?

Well, some weeks ago I said I would update this section. I finally did.

- For those who already know what a 'Tower Defense' is, I will just say, this one use the main features of them, but I'll also add my own.
- For those who don't, Tower Defense consist of a map, on which monsters spawn from a defined spot, and walk on a path. You got to build towers along this path to kill those monsters. You can upgrade those towers, and research some advanced one.
Tower defense was made popular by the warcraft 3 modification and 'Master of Defense'.

2)Features

The game is still under development, but some features are already done (or at least 'playable').
-You'll be able to choose several game mode, classical TD, contineous spawn, labyrinth, checkpoint and so on, i'll explain all of those once the game is released.
-You start with the ability to build 4 basic towers: ground, air, ice, and a ground splash, from there you'll earn new towers as the level in research increase.
-You can use 'knowledge' points, tu upgrade tower element (like fire, air, ice, etc...-, to sell tower for a more good price and earn more money on each kill. Those knowledge pool are also needed to the advanced and elite towers.
-An editor, people who like the game will be able to make theyr own map, and it will become available for the community.
-A random map generator: You can choose to play pre-made maps or to generate random maps, you won't play the same map twice if you don't want to!
-Once the game is released, multiplayer support will be added, a tournament/ladder aswell.
-All of those features will be available when the game is release, but once it is, i'll work on a multiplayer gamemode.

Wing Commander: Arena

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/WingCommanderArena/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Wing Commander: Arena is a multiplayer shooter currently in development for Xbox Live ARCADE.
Image" /> Oh no! Leftover Halloween candy has gone bad, and it's up to you to clean up the mess.

History

This game was put on Newgrounds way back on 11/29/2005, and has broken the 75,000 view mark. This game is also open source; scroll down to see the notice, and scroll further to download the .fla file!

Gameplay

To play, click once on any colored candy with at least one of the same color adjacent. All similarly-colored candies will be highlighted, and text will tell you how many points it'd be worth to collect them. Keep above the minimum score to continue; how long can YOU last?

Cheats

Type c-h-e-a-t while playing and you'll hear "watch this!". Once cheats are enabled, press 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 to destroy all of the corresponding color (while racking up bunches of points!), or type "s-c-o-r-e" to get the equivalent of 10 candies at once (point value varies by level).

Hints

If you just randomly collect candy, you'll probably make it to level 5 or 6, but if you want any hope of passing further, you need to bunch multiple candies together - you'll get double the points for 4 at once than for 2 twice.

It's also important to get those bonuses! In Candy Catastrophe, you'll get a bonus for each candy that has over 90% collected. Here too, it's better to get one 96% than a few 91%s.

Save vertical candies for later unless taking them helps make a better match - sometimes you'll be able to get rid of a column on either side and can use them then.

Note: Open Source Game

This game is open source: if you want to change or edit this game in any way, or even keep it the same, then reuse it anywhere, go right ahead! Pick one of the top contenders in the galaxy and take him to conquer all tournaments. It's up to you to achieve glory through victory or taste the agony of defeat!
The objective of the game is to become the best uber-player in the entire galaxy. In order to achieve this, you have in your hands the latest in elastic-paddle technology that will allow you to control the speed, bounce and direction of the ball at will.
The encounters are regulated under the popular Mexican rule of three-O-five (3-0-5). That is, the first player that obtains three goals in a row, without letting the opponent score, will win; otherwise the first player to score five points will be declared the winner of the match.
Use your skills, weapons and intellect to survive this Gwab vs Gwab battle royale. The desktop is your arena: use the windows to gain the high ground, utilize icons in the battle for victory, break off a piece of the start bar to use as a deadly weapon!

Take on your friends or Gwab community members through the Battle Manager portal. Challenge opponents using a built-in messenger. There are three rounds in each match with three different fighting modes: a fun match (no stakes), a wager match (bet your gwablets), or a death match (pinks slips for your character). Gwablets (the game's currency) are used to resurrect dead characters, purchase new ones, weapons, and for entry into feeding tournaments. Climb to the top of the world wide leader board to become the ultimate feeder. Challenge anyone within the Gwabs worldwide network for immediate desktop to desktop battles.

I am always brimming with ideas for games, but lack the ability to programme them, so on one of my many brain farts I created some levels, a scenario and characters, all for this side scrolling shooter game.
Chaosepoch actually took a liking to the idea (he likes coding games) and agreed to code the game for me.

So far all we have is one example level (i.e. a level that won't be used in the game once it's coded properly) and the basic game play structure (i.e. side scrolling, and shooting).

There are only two of the 29 enemies present in this demo clip and none of the power-ups, special moves, or anything like that.
This is merely just a little taster of what I am working on, and nothing here is set in stone.
The only thing that is definite is that the main character is a flying platypus that shoots eggs from it's bill.
Yep.

You play as a Platypus who has been sucked into a bizarre under water world of monsters, clowns and toilets who all want to kill you.
There are plenty of weird bosses too, such classics as one boss being a giant robot giraffe who hurls newts at you, and another being a giant floating mans head which resembles a tea pot his skull opens up to reveal a soggy tea bag which you have to hit to do him damage.

A lot of work needs to be done, this is FAR from finished...
This simulation is to be used for beginning to advanced astronomers by immersing the player in an accurate simulation of a night sky. Here, they can learn where the constellations are and how to star hop to planets, galaxies, and nebulae.

Ever since I joined my first Astronomy Club and went out under a dark desert sky, I was overwhelmed by how difficult it was to locate constellations since there were so many stars. In the city it is a lot easier to locate constellations since light pollution blocks out the fainter stars, but is also difficult because the lights block out objects I would be trying to find. The hardest thing about astronomy is that it takes practice to truly learn the sky and to take into account for weather conditions, light pollution, and general driving distances.

We decided to create Dark Skies so that astronomers could explore the stars and other objects that they have been wanting to locate before they leave home and make the 60 mile journey to observe.

This is an online multi-player 3D simulator designed with TGE + AFX and is planned for release on Windows, Mac, and Linux. The simulation will create a simulated star party where up to 16 players can join and select one of 3 models of telescopes such as refractors, newtonians, or cassegrains. Players are able to use the telescopes to locate objects and can step away from the instrument without losing the location so that other players can look through the scope and learn where these astronomical gems are located.

Dark Skies is intended for instructing, and for learning experiences at your comfort. Bob, your friendly ranger, will work along side of you to assure your progress and understanding of the mysterious dark sky above.

Population Control

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/PopulationControl/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

In population control, you are tasked with watching over sheep, foxes, and grass, to ensure that the three species are able to coexist in harmony. Should the foxes or sheep die out, you lose.

As the game progresses, the species breed to survive. As they breed, the foxes and sheep move towards the 'perfect' form of evolution - low food intake to survive, yet strong bodies.

Every day, you earn actions that can be used to place animals on the field, mutate a species that is growing too strong, or cause it to rain to help the grass grow.

How long can YOU maintain balance?

This game plays interesting as a sandbox. Since the game will play forever until you lose, the fun is in setting goals for yourself - for example, seeing how many sheep you can sustain at once (my limit was 1800), how quickly you can generate a lot of a single species, how long you can sustain 100 foxes, etc.

Another challenge I discovered that you cannot do without editing the ini file (until I add a main menu) is to set the number of sheep and foxes both to four, and try and grow a large enough herd of sheep to actually survive.

If you want the game to play faster, use F1-F5 to set the game speed. If you want to slow the game down to watch the soap-opera like plot (line drawing) evolve, hit F6.

This game is considered to be feature complete. The only other progress to be made to it will be bug fixes and perhaps a main menu. (as such, please report any bugs found)

All graphics are original and created by me (although a friend helped me with the fox, if it weren't for him it would look like a red huskey). The music is by another friend. All SFX were found in free SFX libraries online.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/phoenixwright3/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations (also known as Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations and Phoenix Wright 3) is the third instalment in the Ace Attorney series of games for the Nintendo DS.
