There are bosses at the end of each level that will take a bit more thinking to destroy. wasted in progress, it'll count against you when your post ends.<br />

You were a normal citizen only moments ago. If you manage to prove<br />
yourself and keep VIPs safe in your area, they might make you<br />
a VIP. Or do poorly enough and they might decide that you're the<br />

On screen, VIPs are designated blue, threats are designated red<br />
and the normal folk are white.<br />

Each time a Mailer Daemon gets past him, the time limit is suspended, and he must battle a gigantic multi-tentacled, shape-changing demon called the Zuuling.<br />
<br />
Move Burnie using the keyboard, and fire by aiming the mouse. The longer you hold the mouse button, the larger the fireballs Burnie can hurl. Large fireballs are faster and can burn through multiple demons.<br />
<br />
Shooting fireballs uses Mana, which can be replaced by holding the spacebar to Meditate. Meditation leaves Burnie vulnerable. Demons drop mana powerups when you send one fireball through multiple demons, each one leaves a larger powerup. Demons also drop life powerups when you create chain-reactions by burning demons that touch each other.<br />

The game is actually episode 112 of the webcomic Nerdcore: the Core Wars. There are three possible endings, depending on how well you perform. I am always brimming with ideas for games, but lack the ability to programme them, so on one of my many brain farts I created some levels, a scenario and characters, all for this side scrolling shooter game.<br />
Chaosepoch actually took a liking to the idea (he likes coding games) and agreed to code the game for me.<br />
<br />
So far all we have is one example level (i.e. a level that won't be used in the game once it's coded properly) and the basic game play structure (i.e. side scrolling, and shooting).<br />
<br />
There are only two of the 29 enemies present in this demo clip and none of the power-ups, special moves, or anything like that.<br />
This is merely just a little taster of what I am working on, and nothing here is set in stone.<br />
The only thing that is definite is that the main character is a flying platypus that shoots eggs from it's bill.<br />

You play as a Platypus who has been sucked into a bizarre under water world of monsters, clowns and toilets who all want to kill you. <br />
There are plenty of weird bosses too, such classics as one boss being a giant robot giraffe who hurls newts at you, and another being a giant floating mans head which resembles a tea pot his skull opens up to reveal a soggy tea bag which you have to hit to do him damage.<br />

A lot of work needs to be done, this is FAR from finished... <br />

Toy Robo is an Action-Adventure Shooter that requires quick hands and engaging strategy.  You play as Toy Robo, a robot action figure on the side of good.  Your goal is to rid the world of evil toys which appear only at night.  You will do this in Arena style combat using your Blaster and Energy sword.  To help you along your way, you can equip several types of batteries, each with different combat effects and <br />
bonuses.<br />
<br />
This game was developed as an entry to the gamedev.net 4e4 contest which required that it encorporate at least 2 of the following four elements (elements of which ALL games are apparently made of): pirates, ninjas, robots and zombies.<br />
<br />
I opted for robots and zombies because robots are easy to model and zombies are easy to animate ^_^<br />
<br />
The contest had a 6 month time limit, so I wanted to make sure I didn't bite off more then I could chew.  In the end I came in 2nd out of at least 20 - the 1st place finisher was developed by 5 people!  so even though I didn't win I felt like the game did very well and the process was rewarding.<br />

The majority of the game takes place within the cockpit of various space fighters. Depending on how well one performs while in action, the player may find themselves on the winning or losing path thus altering the plot accordingly. Medals and the respect of your wingmen are gained if performance is exemplary, in turn leading to a more effective attack wing. In between space-flight missions the player is free to roam the legendary carrier &quot;TCS Tiger's Claw&quot; and have conversations with their fellow crew mates, learning more about the horrors and triumphs of the bloody war that is now being fought. <br />

When Wing Commander was released in 1990, the in-game graphics and space-combat engine were a step above all other products during that period. The game was even one of the first to use the new Sound Blaster for PC's, adding to the already cinematic feel of the game.<br />

The strong script and characters which has been a staple through out the series are the primary reason why the Wing Commander has gained such a strong following over the years. It was received with much critical-acclaim due to its high playability, state-of-the-art in-game graphics engine plus well scripted, produced and acted FMV sequences, all of which contributed to the games deep and absorbing atmosphere.<br />

Wing Commander III was the first game in the series to use Full Motion Video as the primary story-telling device and is considered to be one of the best and successful examples of FMV use in a video game. This was the final game in the Wing Commander series to deal with the Terran-Kilrathi conflict. The mood is darker than the original, mainly due to the fact that the Humans are in fact losing the war.<br />

Basically its a single level game built around JumpStart. The Map to play on is randomly selected from a set list (currently 4 maps) and play exists of you trying to destroy all of the enemies on the screen. Some maps are generated procedurely and some are hard coded.<br />

In the relased version sound is supported (turned off by default, turn it on in the options screen). I'll warn you now that the sound can get a bit annoing. Luckily you can press escape, go to options, turn it off, back, and resume game.<br />

Graphics are completely from SpriteLib GPL. The game can be considered a multi-scrolling shooter, in that there are horizontal and vertically scrolling levels, although the ship does not change orientation when this happens.<br />
<br />
Like many scrolling shooters, the player initially has a basic shot, which can be upgraded and/or exchanged for different weapons, as well as gain smaller ships that follow the player's ship around and copy its attacks. As is usual, these powerups are distributed throughout the levels, and are lost when the player dies.<br />
<br />
Two additional mechanics differentiate Arrow Flash from similar scrolling shooters, one of which is that the ability to transform the player's ship. The two forms available are a humanoid mecha form and a typical jet form. The player's weapons change depending on the form. The jet form only shoots forward, while the the mecha form can fire diagonally; helper ships mimic the jet's actions but stay in a fixed formation behind the mecha. The game's titular &quot;Arrow Flash&quot; is a highly powerful attack for each form; the jet fires five large blasts forward, while the mecha form becomes engulfed in flame, rendering it immune to attack for a short while. This shooter features power-ups and is highly detailed, combining nostalgia with 24-bit color. Four levels have 100 waves of ships. Destroy 15 enemies with 13 power-ups. You can play in windowed and full-screen modes; then show off your skills to the world with Web-based high scores. Your ship can be controlled with the mouse, which comes in handy when you're trying to dodge enemy fire. The Gold version features a new interface and a massive list of bug fixes.<br />
