Taking place from a side-on perspective the game features many elements of both platform and action games. The game focuses around the day/night cycle, hence the name, where the player scavenges supplies during the day when zombies are less common, then returns to base at night to defend from the zombie hordes.
The basic idea of the game is that you must gather two kinds of resources - minerals and energy - and use them to construct defenses for your base. To do this you have to eat the yellow dots, but the catch is, is that if you don't eat, you'll die!!
Also there are red creatures, which will harm your creature if it eats them, so don't touch them.
They won't make it easy though, becuase if they get close enough, the curious creatures will follow, but you can shake em' off with a few slick moves.
If that was bad, things just get worse. These little red creatures have infected some other creatures, and when these creatures die, they spread even more of these little blighters around!!
But help is at hand! There are some other types of creatures: blue, green, and purple, and when you eat them, your creatures gain abilities which will help it survive.
But these effects are only temporary! So keep your wits about you!

I will update when I can, but for now:
I hope you enjoy this game!
You play as either four survivors that try to go from Point A to Point B, or you have the choice to play as one of the many zombie bosses. Now you may think this will get repetitive in time, but that's not true. The gameplay is different every time you play. Now this game heavily depends on teamwork, if you stroll along by yourself, your going to most certainly die. Weapon choice is simple, you can use MP5's to Uzis. The story is that the in a city have been infected with a sort of rabies that have turned them into zombies. These zombies aren't slow, they're fast and have the ability to climb fences. Oh, I forgot friendly fire is always on, so don't be trigger happy, and also don't jump right in front of your teammates expecting you won't get hurt, because you will. Why is friendly fire always on? The fact is, it makes the game more challenging. If there was no friendly fire, the game would too easy and would be a breeze to finish.

GunMaster Onslaught 2.0

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/gmo2/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Survive the onslaught for as long as you can. The game uses the Unreal Tournament engine along with a lot of new technology to create an immersive single-player experience full of people, environments, and enemies that will absolutely terrify you.

Gameplay is classic shooter style... fast enemies, powerful weapons, and obstructions that require exploration in order to progress. There isn't much in the way of jump puzzles, even though you'll have to watch your footing plenty of times. Puzzle elements are also fairly light, with the majority being solved by finding the correct lever, defeating the right monster, or talking to the appropriate NPC.

Eye candy is cranked to the max, for the most part due to an incredible particle effects engine and skeletal animation for the characters. Character detail is unbelievable, without a polygon to be seen. Environments are also gorgeous with very detailed texturing, great and moody lighting, and extreme attention to detail. In-engine cutscenes explain the detailed story and all it's twists and turns, helped along by a generous number of scripted conversations and events.

The monsters? Well, they'll scare you to death. It's hard to argue with almost thirty enemies and a whopping six bosses! For added gruesome effect, each and every creature has a unique cutscene that will play, showing what they do to you if your aim or your nerve fails...

You've got a great arsenal to deal with them, though. Everything from weapons to spells and even powerful and destructive inventory items. The 8 offensive weapons range from real-world items that take different types of ammo, to projectile and melee fantasy weapons that can affect you as much as they affect your opponents. Undying includes 9 spells which range from chattering skulls that streak towards your enemies and explode in balls of flame, to a mystic shield that will protect your front side from harm.

You'll find that despite all the great parts of Undying listed above, the single most impressive aspect of the game is the fear it instills. Not for the weak.

They Hunger: Lost Souls

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/theyhungerlostsouls/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

They Hunger: Lost Souls is a commercial first-person action game powered by the award-winning Half-Life 2 Source engine from Valve Software.
GAMESPOT said,
After being canceled at Interplay, this sequel to the cult post-apocalyptic role-playing game was resurrected by Bethesda, where it is currently in development.

The Fallout series is in a way a descendant of Interplay's 1988 "Wasteland", to which Electronic Arts retains the rights. The Fallout series takes place in a fictional post-holocaust earth inhabited by the "Vault Dwellers" who survived the fallout of the brief but deadly nuclear war of 2077 in meticulously managed underground facilities, and a variety of others who met different fates, which include, of course, mutation.

The series introduces the player to a quest of survival and adventure in an often harsh world of varied cultures, where not quite all that was good of mankind has perished, and the player may determine their own morality, skill and creativity.

Bethesda Software announced in 2004 that they had acquired the rights to produce Fallout 3 and subsequent sequels, though Interplay retained the MMO rights (and in November of 2006 set in motion a process that might lead to the funding and creation of a Fallout MMORPG.)

As of April 12, 2007 Bethesda appears to have purchased the IP to the Fallout franchise outright, as development continues.

Game Features (both known and speculated):

Bethesda is using the Gamebryo engine, with which they previously produced The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Actor Liam Neeson has been cast for a major voice acting role.

RPG elements are at the heart of the Fallout series, and also a staple of Bethesda Software, so it is anticipated that this aspect will remain.

Open-ended non-linear gameplay is likely.

Three different perspectives: Isometric, behind the shoulder, and first person.

(New Details from Game Informer magazine)

Game runs on an evolved version of the Oblivion engine. Third person view has been reworked since the verdict was that the Oblivion version was bad.

Game starts with your birth and your mother's death in a vault hospital. This is essentially the character customization part of the game. Your father hands you up to have your DNA analyzed and you get to pick out all your character traits. Your dad takes off his mask to reveal similar traits to the ones you picked.

You grow up in the vault and as you grow you get your first book titled "You're Special" which allows you to choose you baseline stats for each of your 7 primary aptitudes. You'll also get your first weapons and wrist computer (menu) as you get older and take tests to determine the initial layout of your skills and traits.

Every aspect of character creation is based on S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system. Of your 14 skills you can tag 3 to grow at a faster rate than the rest as you level up.

Battle system is called the Vault-tec Assisted Targeting System (V.A.T.S.). The article states. "While you'll certainly be able to tackle enemies in real time using first person shooting, V.A.T.S. lets players pause time and select a target at their leisure". Battle system still uses action points, but once you've used them up you'll still be able to fight targets in real time while they charge back up.

Game is still violent and gory. One of the featured screens is of a guy's head exploding in super gory detail. Apparently all gory deaths in the game will be in slow motion.

More than one way to play the game. Go balls out and kill people, or sneak past situations, or perhaps talk your way out of situations.

Enemies can target you just like you can target them, so you can get injured in very specific points on you body. This in addition to an all new health/radiation system. This new system has you measuring how radiated certain things (like water) are and how they affect you when you consume them.

Karma system returns.

The game does not scale like oblivion, so if you enter a high level area expect to be promptly murdered.

Level cap is 20.

Definite ending to the game, but there are 9 - 12 possible endings.

There are NPC's you can hire, but this is not a party based game.

Make money or steal it. Buy weapons or pick them off a fresh corpse. Work for the leaders of the post-apocalyptic ruin or have them working for you.
Marauders, terrorists, merchants and heroes are all equals here. They are all either one of us or one of them, warm-blooded or cold, survivors or monsters.

People of the Dawn

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/peopleofthedawn/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

People of the Dawn is a Third/First Person perspective experience blended with Real Time Strategy control elements, allowing the player to manage her tribe as well as participate within the environment. The story and goal is simple: Man versus Nature or the elements. Constantly taunted and hunted by the AI SHODAN, the player must counter SHODAN's attempts to destroy human life on Earth.

System Shock went on to receive critical acclaim and garnered awards in the adventure genre, despite its mediocre commercial performance. The game's legacy influences game development to this day.
