Apparently, some monsters in the game, such as dragons, will be absolutely huge, and will take up to 12 squares on the game's combat map, which has been retouched as a grid-based map divided up into two halves--yours and your opponents"

In the beginning you create your LCS founder's background and start alone, but you can recruit as many liberals as you like. The mission is pretty straight forward, change the nation, place liberals in charge. There are many ways to do so, using raw violence, kidnapping important people and converting them into sleepers, changing public opinion, invading the radio station and broadcasting your ideals, freeing criminals, and so forth.

Please be aware that LCS is a rather mature game with lines inappropriate children, but they add a nice comical aspect to it.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/SupremeCommanderForgedAlliance/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

The story of Forged Alliance begins in the origins of the Aeon, one of the original Supreme Commander factions. The Aeon have their origins in humanity's sole contact with an alien race called the Seraphim. When the contact went bad, the resulting conflict ended up with an entire planet full of dead extraterrestrials. The Aeon was formed to adopt the aliens' culture into human society in recompense for humanity's crime. Now, however, it turns out that said planet wasn't the Seraphim's home; it was just a small colony of a much larger empire. Now the Seraphim have opened a gate into human-controlled space and discovered what happened to their long-lost brothers. Needless to say, they're pissed and they've decided where humanity failed at universal genocide, the Seraphim will succeed.

The story of humanity's battle with the Seraphim will play out in a brand-new single-player campaign that details the triple alliance of Aeon, Cybran and UEF battling against the first truly alien presence in the game. While the Seraphim won't be playable in single-player, they'll certainly throw a few monkey wrenches into tried-and-true strategies with over 100 new units including a really cool experimental bomber that darkens a big chunk of the sky before it brightens up the area with negative energy bombs that are basically mini-nukes.

Not to be left out, there are some fun new toys for each of the game's original three factions. The UEF is getting a 3-point defensive emplacement that will help defend against ground assault. The Cybrans should enjoy a shout out to Total Annihilation, the Brick, a mobile missile launcher that shoots torpedoes in the water and lasers on land. The real fun for the Cybrans comes in the form of their new experimental megalith. This crab-like monstrosity is amphibious and can blow away entire navies. On land it moves slower but acts as a mobile production platform that can drop armies on the run. The resource requirements for these giant units have also been reduced so players should finally start seeing them in multiplayer matches.

Some of the most important additions to the game, however, won't be immediately obvious from the screen. The game's new AI is apparently way, way smarter than the one that shipped with the original version. According to Gas Powered Games personnel, in internal testing it's been able to beat the old AI in about 10 minutes with much less of a performance hit. The game will ship with unit shaders that make everything shinier and cut down the drag on performance. Aircraft get a new flight dynamic model, the sky dome's been revamped and the user interface has been re-done and can now be skinned and reorganized with faction-appropriate art.
The game was innovative in its branching plotline. Crucial decisions made in the game determine the path of the story, the members of your army and the ending sequence. There are always multiple endings with radically different outcomes.

For eighty years, Valeria has been in constant strife, and its three leading ethnic groups all claim leadership. The three factions are:

Gargastan: While these people make up 70% of Valeria's total population, they suffer constant inner struggle between moderate and radical theorists on how government should best be handled. This weakens what would be a dominant majority.

Walstanian: An oppressed minority of Southern Valeria, making up only 10% of the population. Their suffering is the catalyst to the plot in Tactics Ogre.

Bacrumese: These are generally the more "elite" of Valerian society, making up a solid 20% of its people.

Mighty King Roderick, aided by the forbidden powers of the "Hell Gate," is able to dominate the people until Dolgare of Bacrum successfully leads his army to defeat Roderick and his dark powers. With the king dead, the charismatic Dolgare claims the throne as his own, and is able to end the struggle between the ethnic groups. Under King Dolgare, the rights of the people are preserved, and internal struggles in Valeria come to a temporary halt.

All is right until the entire royal family is lost due to a string of accidents. Because the late King Dolgare had no living heirs, the ethnic groups once again struggled for leadership: Bishop Branta of the royal court, Cardinal Barbatos, dictator of the Gargastan people, and Duke Ronway, representative of the Walstanian minority, all fought for control, but in the end, Barbatos and Branta stalemated. In order to preserve their power, the two men took separate measures: Cardinal Barbatos sought an "ethnic cleansing" policy and slaughtered thousands of innocent Walstanians and Gargastans, while Branta received aid from the Roslolians, the greatest order in all of Lodis.

The separation of the three races thus sets the stage for the beginning of the game. The player is greeted by a collage of scenes depicting the Roslolian Order's mysterious actions in Griate, home to Denim Powell, Kachua Powell, and Vice Bozek, the main characters. Denim and Kachua's father, Plancy, was kidnapped by the enigmatic Lans Tartare, and the three heroes seek vengeance against the dark knight.

Disgaea 3

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/disgaea3/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Disgaea returns with a sequel on the PS3.

Soul Nomad and the World Eaters

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/soulnomad/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

There was a time when an evil warlord and his three golems wrought havoc on the world, until the warlord was sealed into a sword by a powerful wizard. It fuses elements of Turn Based Strategy and Top-down shooter into a cohesive whole.

The Players begin by selecting a side, either the mobile Attackers, or the static Overseers. The aim of the game is for the members of one team to annihilate all the members of the opposing team. Control flips between players on a turn-based basis, with each turn time-limited.
Attackers are able to move about freely during their turns, and although they have limited hit points, they are able to respawn a certain number of times if killed. Attackers can only fire a weapon once per turn.
Overseers are static supercomputers that cannot move, but are able to place defensive turrets within their zone of influence to defend themselves. Only one turret can be placed per turn, but multiple turrets can be fired per turn. Once an Overseer is destroyed, it stays destroyed.

The game is currently undergoing a major upgrade to full 3D graphics, which will introduce a new first-person view for Attackers, but keep the top-down overview for Overseers. New weapons are also planned.

Base Invaders

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/BaseInvaders/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

In Base Invaders the objective is to repel enemy waves (little creatures called Invaders) by building walls and placing all sorts of elaborate traps around your tower.
