Battleships Forever is a freeware tactical Real Time Strategy game that puts you in command of a small fleet of warships in space. Combat and damage mechanics are extremely detailed. Everything is simulated in game if possible. There are no abitrary "to hit chance" values in Battleships Forever. The game also features many innovative mechanics that you've never seen before. For example, the Cronus Battleship sports a Flux Shield generator that allows you to draw a defensive force shield around your ships in any shape you want. Another example are the Deflector modules that are used extensively through the game. These modules make a single section of a ship totally invulnerable to fire. This means that you will have to manoeuvre your ships to attack sections of the enemy ships not protected by Deflectors while keeping your own protected sections facing the enemy. Position is paramount!

Players will command picked fleets made up of Battleships, Destroyers and Patrol Craft. The completed game will include ten campaign missions and multiple skirmish modes.

Battleships Forever is inspired by and loosely based on Warning Forever by Hikoza.T.Ohkubo

Stronghold Crusader

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/shc/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Journey to distant lands renowned for brave warriors and fearsome weaponry in Firefly Studios' STRONGHOLD CRUSADERâ„¢ . This game manages to take the well-known mythology surrounding the story and focused on the war in the North between the elves, dwarves, goblins, and Mordor forces that is only touched upon in the book and is left out completely in the movies. LORD OF THE RINGS: THE BATTLE FOR MIDDLE EARTH II plays out much like the game of Risk in that players must move their armies around a board that is covered in territories. Players will find that this new battle between good and evil takes place on a much grander scale with six different factions combining to against the forces of Mordor. Players can also combine forces in multiplayer mode to get the most out of the fights. This ability to customize the fighting options makes for a great game no matter what type of mood the player is in. All of these factors make playing the second installment in the Battle for Middle Earth series just as exciting and entertaining as the first time around, without the worry that players will just be repeating the game in a different format. LORD OF THE RINGS: THE BATTLE FOR MIDDLE EARTH II is perfect for Tolkien fans.

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/swgalacticbattlegrounds/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

The destiny of a galaxy hangs in the balance and you're in command. This sequel boasts an entirely new engine producing refined gameplay and improved graphics (although the game is now a few years old). Set in a medieval world the gameplay involves resource management and strategic combat. You take the role of a local ruler who attempts to build up his power base until he gains control of the entire land. In order to do this, you'll have to keep you subjects happy or they'll move elsewhere. You control many areas of your fiefdom including rationing, agriculture, trade, weapons production, building and the development of your army. The most notable difference to the first two games is that there are no more roads - all units, including carriers with goods, can walk around freely. This simplifies the building of a settlement, since only the distances between buildings are relevant, and not how roads can be constructed between them. And military units are now directly controlled, making fighting more similar to games like Command & Conquer or Age of Empires than to the previous Settlers games.

Biofilm

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/biofilm/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

In a soup of bacterial life propagation is the only goal. In the game, the player controls a club of kids in a common neighborhood setting. The player tries to convince all of the other kids in the neighborhood to join his/her club. The player can do this in three main ways: treefort building, military might, and economic power. If the player chooses to focus on treefort building, he/she tries to build a huge treefort that stretches to the tops of the trees. This treefort must have the coolest stuff in the whole neighborhood. Only then will the other kids in the neighborhood take notice and want to join. If the player focuses on military might, he/she wants to engage in epic water battles with the other clubs to soak them head to toe with water. This will surely convince the other clubs that the player's club is the greatest ever. Lastly, if the player wants to spend time gaining economic power, he/she will want to build the biggest economic empire in the whole neighborhood. The player will set up lemonade stands, run paper routes, and sell treats to everyone in the neighborhood, gaining more money than any kid could ever get even after a lifetime's worth of allowance. The other kids won't be able to resist.

The player's ultimate goal is to eventually convince all of the kids in the whole town to join his/her club. To do this, the player must go through every neighborhood in the town, convincing the kids one neighborhood at a time. By the time the player convinces all of the kids in the town to join his/her club, the player will have enormous treeforts, complete with zip lines, water turrets, clubhouses, and more. He/she will know what it takes to plan out a raid on a two-level treefort with only three kids and their water balloons. The player will also understand how to manage lemonade stands to get the most Moms and Dads to buy lemonade and how to make sure all of the parents get their newspaper, even though the only cool section in there is the Funnies.

Command & Conquer The First Decade

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/cnctfd/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Command & Conquer: The First Decade was announced on November 4th, 2005 and was released on February 7 2006. A whole new dimension will be added to the game by using virtual agents. Agents are freelancers available for hire who help a player during the game. Hiring agents is done during an auction where different players can make their bids for the agent. This creates an opportunity to economically defeat an opponent by raising the price of the agent he wants to hire. Each agent remembers his old contracts with the player. The History of old contracts has a strong influence on the price of the agent. A player has to take care of his hired agents otherwise they may not want to work for him in the future.
