Basically it's supposed to be like Space Invaders.

I originally created this game with Multimedia Fusion Express for the PC. I then ported this over to the PSP coded in Flash. Then I decided to make this Flash version for online playing.

If you want a copy for the PSP then go on over to my website at:
http://www.tmbsoft.com

INSTRUCTIONS:
Use the LEFT keyboard arrow to change your BASE to match any number, or INVADER, that is advancing towards you. Once you change your Base to that Invader number you press the RIGHT keyboard arrow to destroy the Invader.

If you destroy 2 or more Invaders in a row that add up to 10, 20, 30 etc then you get a 'n', or Mother Ship, advancing towards you which you can then destroy for 150 points.

The closer the the right hand side of the screen the Invaders are when you destroy them the more points you get for each, eg. 80 points for an Invader in the first position on the right, then less 10 points each position closer to your Base (ie. 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10.)

You have 3 lives which are displayed next to you by 3 lines next to your Base.

The game has 9 levels and each level the Invaders advance faster towards you. Once you get past the 9th level it goes back to level 1.

CONTROLS:
[ X ] Start Game
[ Left Arrow ] Aim - Change Base Number to match Enemy Number / Change Theme
[ Right Arrow ] Fire - Destroy Invading Numbers / Change Theme

THEME:
Before you start playing a game you can change the background theme to any of the custom backgrounds included with the game. To do this use the keyboard LEFT and RIGHT arrows during the "Click [-] to play" screen.

Photon Arena

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/PhotonArena/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Fry your opponent by catching them in your high power laser beam.
What happens on Halloween when the only neighborhood in sight has been built over an indian burial ground and is full of nightmarish creatures? Well, you go to trick or treat there, of course, but not without your assortment of powerful weapons to aid you along the way.

You can either perform a powerful slice attack or hold the chainsaw revving to do minor damage over time. The latter is often not useful unless you know what you're doing or have the super chainsaw upgrade, in which case it will tear through damn near anything.

Tetrageddon

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/tetrageddon/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Although the controls take on the basic "pentomino" controls (Up, Down, Left, Right, Space for "drop", and Q to submit your high-score), the game-play takes a very unusual spin that tickles the "nonsense" nerve. You are presented with a quiet city scene where you control heaps of rubble dropped from the sky by a tiny alien (Minibyte), who decided to "pick on the big people" by planting his "Portable Entertainment System" (a giant crane) over Earth. The goal of the game comes in three tiers: to score by squishing people, play pentomino, and challenge your reflexes as blocks fall at random speeds. The traditional set of blocks are mixed with "surprise blocks" which you have to quickly find a place for in the grid. Even the individual block tiles are purposefully vague and hard to distinguish to add to the chaos. The game is very challenging to ones reflexes. The goal is to keep your grid under control as long as possible so that you can continue scoring on pedestrians. Only those with quick fingers can survive.

Millenipede

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/millenipede/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Millenipede is a fast-paced arcade shoot 'em up inspired by the classic Atari game Centipede. It was originally developed in less than seven days for the 94th "Wednesday Workshop" at SoCoder, but since then it's sort of grown and developed a life of its own - nothing groundbreaking, but curiously good fun...

Your aim is to zap all of the millenipedes on each wave while dodging spiders, snails and of course the millenipedes themselves. They'll make their way down the screen until eventually they hit the bottom, at which point they will roam around the player area until you shoot them.

Each dead millenipede will, for some environmentally friendly reason, grow into a mushroom. These serve no purpose aside from blocking the movement of other centipedes and hindering your bullets. Each mushroom takes four shots to completely destroy.

If you touch any enemy, be it a millenipede, spider or snail, you lose a life - but if you can manage to shoot them first then a nice points bonus will head your way. See how long you can survive and aim for the top spot on the highscore table!
It is a highly atmospheric turn-based fantasy wargame, with an unusual first-person perspective.

The game owes a heavy debt to The Lord of the Rings, and also features a quest mode. One of its most interesting features is the recruitment of other playable Lords.

The original game still has many fans to this day.

This PalmOS version is intended to be a straight port, with minimal changes to support stylus control. In its current state it is playable, but has a few bugs and missing features. It has been in development a long time, and is pretty messy, so it might never get completely finished.

Escape from Orion: The Next Generation

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/orion-tng/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

This a remake of the early BBC Micro game Escape from Orion, which was a simple platform game owing a considerable debt to Donkey Kong. Axion is a 4 colour (greyscale) shoot'em up made for the Retro Remakes 4-colour TI calculator style competition.

Story

Thousands of years ago the Atlantians built a huge inter-dimensional portal with the intent of trapping a huge foe inside. The portal worked perfectly, but at the last minute the huge beast was able to pull their entire city in with it. Knowing the they were unable to save the city and that the beast would eventually be able to break free without anyone able to watch over it, they sent out their last hope, Axion.

Axion was a specially designed craft known as a "Dimension diver" which made it the only man-made creation that was able to seemlesly escape the pull of the triangular portal.

Thousands of years later after absorbing much of its surroundings including people, ships and planes, the beast was able to take control of its own prision, although it was still not quite powerful enough to escape entirely. Using all the energy it had absorbed over the many years, the beast took control of the portal and projected it into outer space using mankind's own orbiting satillites. The portal was now 50 times its original size, big enough to engulf the entire planet...and this was the plan. If the beast could absorb the entire planet, then it would have enough energy to break free from its Atlantian prision.

After detecting the huge power surge, Axion emerged out of the ocean and blasted off into outer space to stop the beast before it was too late.

Jet Set Willy: The New Housekeeper

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/thenewhousekeeper/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Tired of Willys wild lifestyle, Maria the housekeeper decides enough is enough. Like most of Bullfrog's games, Theme Hospital is permeated by an eccentric sense of humor. The game is the thematic successor to Theme Park, a game also produced by Bullfrog.

The game is set in a hospital, and requires the player to build an environment which will attract patients with different complaints, illnesses, emergencies, and diseases. The game has a somewhat dark sense of humor, which is similar to that of Theme Park in many ways. The player has no direct control over the patients that wander the hospital, although gameplay largely centers on influencing their actions in one way or another. The player does, however, have the ability to pick up any staff member in the building and move them to a different area (to speed up their movement from place to place) and to expel any patients from the hospital (if they are being a nuisance or causing rowdiness).

Each level consists of an empty hospital to plan and design, with set goals in the fields of financial attainment, patients cured, percent of patients cured, and hospital value. Holding negative funds or allowing sufficient patients to die will bring about losing requirements. When the goals have been met the player has the option to move on to a new, more elaborate hospital with tougher winning conditions and more diseases present. The final level in the game, 'Battenburg' consists of an enormous, yet somewhat awkward, hospital with all the diseases and rooms in the game present, all disasters frequent and very high winning requirements.

Dizzy's Bad Day

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/dbd/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

***FIRST OFF UNDER 18 OR EASILY OFFENDED PEOPLE DON'T PLAY****

Dizzy's bad day was my entry into the 2003 Retro Remakes remakes competition.

It won the comedy prize due to it's rather adult take on the Dizzy series.

It is an authentic style Dizzy game with coins to collect, characters to interact with and puzzles to be completed.
Puzzles may involve dildos, drugs and huge false moustaches but it's all in the standard Dizzy format :D.

The flimsy plot is that Dizzy's porn shop has exploded, scattering his wares accross the land.
His parents are coming to visit so he must gather everything up before they arrive and save his embarrasment.

The game is NOT for the easily offended, as the big 18 signs on the title screen may indicate.
The aim of the game is to pilot your ship through the randomly generated caverns, picking up all the wee guys that are waving for help.
You must collect fuel pods or plummet into the ground as you run out.
To make matters worse, you must dodge oncoming fire and missile turrets.
As the levels progress, the baddies get faster and more agressive.
The purpose of the game is very simple: at the beginning of each level you are at the bottom of a tower, soon the screen begins scrolling down and you have to jump to reach the top and ring the bell which is there. If you fall down or touch the enemies, you'll lose one life.
