After years of hard work, setbacks and the occasional miraculous success, the team has finally come within weeks to a closed beta. The mod is based in a science-fiction setting, whereupon 3 warring vampire clans, the Order, the Vamin and the Absentis, each fighting for control of the vampire underground. Key gameplay features include:<br />
<br />
- An innovative resource system, where killing enemy troops and capturing vital control points allows the player to gain access to new equipment.<br />
<br />
- A hierarchy of character ranks, allowing a captain to take control of his team and lead a squad through the game to victory.<br />
<br />
- 3 distinct character classes for the 3 sides, each boasting its own form of combat and natural skills.<br />
<br />
- Dark, mysterious maps with superb lighting effects, dangerous chokepoints, excellent ambiance and the constant fear of the unknown.<br />
<br />
- 3 distinct factions: The Order, the faction made up of holy men trying to expell vampires from the world; The Vamin, a technologically superior race of vampires utilizing superior ranged weaponry and advanced suits of armor; The Absentis, an exclusively melee faction that utilizes stealth, speed and supernatural abilities to vanquish its enemies.<br />

The story revolves around the player, Johnny Anderson. Johnny was on a mission with a squad to clear out Ravenholm when the squad were ambushed. The player has been infected with a headcrab posion. The player must find the squads medic or medkit to heal himself before the poison fully takes over. You play like a schizophrenic, with Johnny Anderson, the resistance member, on one hand and the headcrab on the other. You encounter some situations where sometimes your biggest enemy is not the zombies. <br />
Gameplay is aimed to recreate the feel of the original Goldeneye.  The levels are being remade in such away as to still have the correct feel as well, but have a major graphics overhaul.<br />
<br />
Recently Goldeneye Source won Bronze for the Mod Of The Year 2006 from ModDB, and then went on to also win the Editors Choice Award for Reinvention.<br />

The story takes place after the ending of the original Half-Life 2.<br />

Half-Left is about a quest unique in a lifetime, which the player, Oliver MacDouglas, has to make in order to save the world. Oliver and Larry Hawk, his sidekick, must venture to the Citadel ruins and recover Gordon Freeman's remains, which in this case, are his legs. You get to venture to new, exotic places, use all-new weapons like the flamethrower and the Nexus Grenade as well as for the first time ever, do hand-to-hand melee combat. The mod includes nine of your favorite characters who are able to duke it out using numerous beam attacks as well as close hand to hand combat. ESF mixes both elements to bring players intense fast paced with a twist of strategy. Each character is geared towards a different style of play. Some are meant to mainly use energy attacks, while others have the advantage in melee fights.<br />
No matter what style of fighting you like to use, esf has a way to accomadate you. <br />
<br />
ESF has been in the making for the better part of three years. The team continuely tries to push the half-life engine to it's limits in order to produce the most playably accurate Dragonball Z game around.<br />
