It ended up on the third place. Since then it has been upgraded.<br />

Current version is 0.80 Beta 2 from 19th June 2007. Game campaign<br />
consists of 9 missions connected by story.<br />
It is still beta so I would appreciate any comments or bug reports.<br />

Raptor: Call of the Shadows was originally released on April 1, 1994. There is a shareware version available for this game which includes the first sector, the Bravo Sector. The full version can still be bought today<br />

As in all shoot 'em up games of this genre, there is a vast number of enemies to kill, both on the ground and in the air. At the end of each wave, and often halfway through the more difficult waves, there is a &quot;boss&quot; which is a single enemy of great size and whom can take a lot of fire before succumbing.<br />
<br />
For each target destroyed the player earns credits, with the amount of credits earned per enemy destroyed is proportional to how tough the enemy ship is. Most of the ground objects (buildings, vehicles, turrets) can be destroyed as well. Between new waves and sectors the player can use credits to select among 16 different equipment upgrades (various weapons, &quot;shield-packs&quot;, bombs, etc) to be bought for his own aircraft.<br />

The game is divided into three &quot;sectors&quot;: Bravo Sector, Tango Sector, and Outer Regions, all of which have nine sub-missions called &quot;waves&quot;, making for a total of 27 levels.<br />

Ever since I joined my first Astronomy Club and went out under a dark desert sky, I was overwhelmed by how difficult it was to locate constellations since there were so many stars. In the city it is a lot easier to locate constellations since light pollution blocks out the fainter stars, but is also difficult because the lights block out objects I would be trying to find. The hardest thing about astronomy is that it takes practice to truly learn the sky and to take into account for weather conditions, light pollution, and general driving distances.<br />

We decided to create Dark Skies so that astronomers could explore the stars and other objects that they have been wanting to locate before they leave home and make the 60 mile journey to observe.<br />
<br />
This is an online multi-player 3D simulator designed with TGE + AFX and is planned for release on Windows, Mac, and Linux. The simulation will create a simulated star party where up to 16 players can join and select one of 3 models of telescopes such as refractors, newtonians, or cassegrains. Players are able to use the telescopes to locate objects and can step away from the instrument without losing the location so that other players can look through the scope and learn where these astronomical gems are located.<br />

Using a small array of weaponry that includes lasers, homing missiles, and a projectile-clearing EMP weapon, you take on a massive onslaught of enemy ships in an attempt to destroy the Core of the mother ship enslaving his people. It&acirc;&euro;&trade;s not over after the Core is destroyed however; the real challenge is escaping with your life.<br />
The gameplay in SS3D2k7 is simple, with straight forward controls. With the default key-binding, the player moves on the X/Y plane using WASD, similar to the controls in most FPS, and aims using the mouse. Left clicking fires the lasers, while right clicking fires the currently selected secondary weapon; either an EMP or a Missile. Missiles use a lock-on system however; holding the right mouse button and dragging across multiple enemies locking on and allowing the player to fire multiple servos simultaneously.<br />
After the game begins, the player begins navigating the tunnels and fighting 3 different classes of ships on his way to the core. The ships consist of a small drone ship, the Inek, that fires only lasers and follows closely behind, a medium sized security ship, the Alitis, that fires only missiles, and a slow moving military ship, the Xiphias, that fires both lasers and missiles, as well as shells. Once reaching the Core, the player simply destroys it and then begins his perilous journey through the tunnels of the mother ship to freedom. Along with all of the enemies scattered through out, the player must also avoid various destructible objects such as bridges and pillars in an obstacle course that serves as the only path out.<br />
When the ending is finally in sight, the player reaches his final challenge: a large mechanized drone with the sole purpose of making sure the player goes down with the rest of the mother ship. Like Frontier, First Encounters features realistic Newtonian physics and the ability to land on planets. Released in 1994, Wing Commander III was the first game to be marketed as a true &quot;Interactive Movie&quot;. It was received with much critical-acclaim due to its high playability, state-of-the-art in-game graphics engine plus well scripted, produced and acted FMV sequences, all of which contributed to the games deep and absorbing atmosphere.<br />

Wing Commander III was the first game in the series to use Full Motion Video as the primary story-telling device and is considered to be one of the best and successful examples of FMV use in a video game. The interactive element takes form during conversation cut-scenes where the player is asked to make a choice on how to proceed. This is done by either by giving a positive or negative response when prompted and this in turn affects the mood of the characters involved, altering theyre behaviour during missions and future conversations.<br />

This was the final game in the Wing Commander series to deal with the Terran-Kilrathi conflict. As with the previous games, it is possible to play a winning or losing path, depending on the players performance during space-combat. The destruction of Earth or the Kilrathi's home planet of &quot;Kilrah&quot; is at the end of one of these two paths. However the series does continue with Wing Commander IV and Wing Commander: Prophecy.<br />

Again most of the game is spent flying missions in space for the Confederation in the continuing war effort against the fearsome Kilrathi Empire. When not flying missions, the player is also able to explore the &quot;TCS Concordia&quot; and talk to fellow crew-mates. A greater emphasis has been placed on storytelling, which gives the player a greater scope on the people fighting this war. The mood is darker than the original, mainly due to the fact that the Humans are in fact losing the war.<br />

The majority of the game takes place within the cockpit of various space fighters. Depending on how well one performs while in action, the player may find themselves on the winning or losing path thus altering the plot accordingly. There is a help manual included in the game, so the help is not included here. It still contains a few small bugs, and the music doesn't work for all but the first section. The code was kind of messy, so I don't want to work any more on this. The game can be considered a multi-scrolling shooter, in that there are horizontal and vertically scrolling levels, although the ship does not change orientation when this happens.<br />
<br />
Like many scrolling shooters, the player initially has a basic shot, which can be upgraded and/or exchanged for different weapons, as well as gain smaller ships that follow the player's ship around and copy its attacks. As is usual, these powerups are distributed throughout the levels, and are lost when the player dies.<br />
<br />
Two additional mechanics differentiate Arrow Flash from similar scrolling shooters, one of which is that the ability to transform the player's ship. The two forms available are a humanoid mecha form and a typical jet form. The player's weapons change depending on the form. The jet form only shoots forward, while the the mecha form can fire diagonally; helper ships mimic the jet's actions but stay in a fixed formation behind the mecha. The game's titular &quot;Arrow Flash&quot; is a highly powerful attack for each form; the jet fires five large blasts forward, while the mecha form becomes engulfed in flame, rendering it immune to attack for a short while.
