The game is geared toward actual role-play and so is for an audience that is more interested than character development than it is in stats crunching and grinding. In Achaea you start of with many different classes and races to choose from and then are thrust into the world where you can befriend others and join clans or look for quests from NPC characters. Achaea is incredibly deep and complex and should definitely be tried at least once by those that are into actual role-play.

Tales of Pirates

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/talesofpirates/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Tales of Pirates is a free, 3D Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game developed by the Chinese company MOLI. It is closely tied to the Origin Ultima V RPG.

Created originally by eggmceye to be a rogue-like game named Balrog in 1998, it was quickly turned into an Ultima-like game with the discovery of an Ultima 4 tileset created by Josh Steele, giving the game its retro feel. Over the past nine years, it has slowly evolved into an online RPG with a small but growing fanbase spanning two servers, each one incorporating slighty different gameplay.

In those nine years, the game has grown from a four player only server to one that incorporates a full Ultima V magic system, including the Runic alphabet, crafting and creature taming. It also contains numerous easter eggs in tribute to NetHack.

Knight Online

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/knightonline/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Come and indulge yourself with the medieval fantasy setting massively
They were the Deva who represented the Light and the Asura who represented the Darkness. With this, there was a period of peace and stability in the world.
As the ages passed by, there was one among the Gaia who called herself "The Witch". Over time, she grew in tremendous power and with a ruthless ambition, rallied the people of Gaia to rebel against the world.
Not all the people of Gaia heeded this call however and the world was thrown into chaos. Nobody knows exactly what happened. The disappearance of the portals are as much a mystery as their origins. The portals didn't all disappear at once.
