In AO you will take part in a vast universe, taking a role as a starship captain, honing your character's skills and amassing great wealth as well as building up your ship into a great powerful vehicle. There are a multitude of different Main Guns, Secondary Systems, lots of enemies, and two different factions to play for: Nomad Empire or the United Systems. You will also be interacting with NPCs, other players and Trading outposts as well as taking part in a series of instanced scenario campaigns to further increase your overall strength and destroy Armada invaders, as well as eliminating the opposing faction.
Armada Online is in Open Alpha status. This means that while a majority of game play components (ships, movements, skills, advancement, etc.) is in place - most of the game content is still under development. Even so - Armada Online's alpha game is incredible and complex. There will be plenty for any new player to learn and enjoy and new content is being added continuously. Basically its a single level game built around JumpStart. The Map to play on is randomly selected from a set list (currently 4 maps) and play exists of you trying to destroy all of the enemies on the screen. Some maps are generated procedurely and some are hard coded.

In the relased version sound is supported (turned off by default, turn it on in the options screen). I'll warn you now that the sound can get a bit annoing. Luckily you can press escape, go to options, turn it off, back, and resume game.

Graphics are completely from SpriteLib GPL. If anyone wants to take the time to create real graphics for the game I'd be happy to add them in and add on a credits screen.

Senha

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/senha/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Discover the password, by the tips offered.
Instead of blocks coming from the top, and fall down, blocks come from both top and bottom, and gravitate towards the middle.

The aim of the game is to get the highest score possible. Points are scored by moving the falling blocks on both sides of the play area so as to arrange 3 or more blocks of the same colour together. These blocks will then disappear causing any blocks "above" them to fall and possibly create further combinations. The game ends when either stack of blocks crosses the game over line. Over time the speed of the blocks increases, more colours are introduced and the play area becomes narrower.

There are two different game modes: Classic where there are just blocks falling, and Arcade where you get powerups and special blocks.

Shellcore

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/shellcore/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

 Shellcore Beta

You control the tank with "w", "a", "s" and "d" and fire shells with the left mouse button. The right mouse button fires the machine gun which is good for destroying RPGs before they hit your tank.
The point of the game is to get the highscore. Challenge your friends and enemies to beat your score. If they are unable, point and laugh at them.
To help you along your way, you can equip several types of batteries, each with different combat effects and
bonuses.

This game was developed as an entry to the gamedev.net 4e4 contest which required that it encorporate at least 2 of the following four elements (elements of which ALL games are apparently made of): pirates, ninjas, robots and zombies.

I opted for robots and zombies because robots are easy to model and zombies are easy to animate ^_^

The contest had a 6 month time limit, so I wanted to make sure I didn't bite off more then I could chew. In the end I came in 2nd out of at least 20 - the 1st place finisher was developed by 5 people! so even though I didn't win I felt like the game did very well and the process was rewarding.
Blastforce is a freeware top-down shooter set in the year 2917. It is being developed with the Gamemaker 6.1 (but may be changed to GM 7.0 in the future). I have been working on the idea behind it for about 10 years (the story behind it was originally written by me as a hobby). Currently, the game is being developed by myself and a friend (with another helping me with my concept artwork). We still have quite a lot to do still!

Features

In the game you will be able to fly a wide variety of aircraft- interceptors, bombers, space-helicopters, and even the odd go on the gun turret. There will also be a number of ground-based missions in the game. The game's graphics are (or will be) in a anime-ish, super nintendo kind of style.

Situation

The game is still in early stages, and newcomers are welcome. At the moment we need:
-Coders
-Pixel artists
-Manga artists

There are also other jobs available. Please leave me a message if you are interested.

Bridge Builder

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/bridgebuilder/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Bridge Builder is a game where you build bridges.
