In Kwonho, the player has the role of creating his own character, choosing a fighting style and buying (or acquiring) clothing and/or items (such as tatoos, guitars, teddy bears and other miscellaneous items). A player's goal is to gain experience by fighting other players in a variety of game modes, or by fighting computer-controlled opponents in the Mission Mode. By winning these fights, a player acquires credits, which he can use to buy new techniques or items, and train to become the best fighter there is. However, there are items in the game that can only be purchased with Hangame/Ijji coins. Deluxe Pacman was a very popular Amiga shareware game that garnered many many addicted fans. Now, on both the PC and MAC, it includes all the old bonuses like glue, extra time, guns and gems, but now it is bigger and better than ever. There are many new modes of play and skill levels. Over 100 levels including bonus rounds and even some secret levels too. There are also even more bonus pickups of course, and the graphics and eye-candy have had a nice boost. Profiles make the game even more addictive and we hope to add even more very very soon. This is a much more recent release from us and so is still in active development but it is already at a fully playable, stable and bugfree stage. I played a much larger part in this games development, doing the usual testing and QC, but i also recorded the entire voice set, created all the levels and many of the tilesets are my own. Of course being a part of this one from the start also made it easier to implement many of my own ideas for the game of which many are in :) One of the great bits is in duel mode where you can come back as a ghost and chase round your rivals for some revenge... It follows six special Magisterals, or magic-users, who possess a power called the Illuminance. They'll face the perils of their world and a revived evil as they attempt to save their world from dying. The gameplay is similar to that of NES and SNES era Final Fantasy games, with similar difficulty, and will be enjoyed the most by people familiar with those games.

And Yet It Moves

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/andyetitmoves/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

And Yet It Moves is basically a mixture between a jump and run and a puzzle game, with the extra ability to rotate the world. The player can run left, right and jump, but can also turn the world clockwise and counterclockwise by 90 degrees. When this happens physics works the following way: as soon as rotation starts all objects get frozen and after rotation objects continue to move with their velocities (direction and speed) they had before. With this ability you can move objects and yourself but also need to keep orientation and watch out for dangerous situations. Don't worry though, your made out of paper so you can die as often as you want to.
The overall goal is to get through this collage of ripped paper. And if your quick - and don´t die too often - you might get into the highscore list.
This is a gameconcept for a mediainformatics course held by the igw at Vienna University of Technology. We made two levels that show different aspects of how actual gameplay could be like. The first level - the cave - is more jump and run style and is an easy one where you can practice and improve your rotation skills. The second one - the jungle - is an advanced level with more sophisticated puzzles. To solve them you have to apply the physical consequences of rotating the world to the player and other objects simultaneously.

Gwabs

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/gwabs/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Gwabs is the first desktop-to-desktop combat game where you can fight your friends in real-time over the Internet. Earth has been decimated by a near-by star explosion, two space colonies are all that survive. Six years pass and the groups become hostile against each other. They begin to build armies just in case things take a turn for the worst, and they do. The armies start to claim each nearby planet and use it as an empire. By now there are millions of people fighting on each side. Planets are surrounded by their teams capital ships and on the ground, there are anti-orbital cannons ready to blast any possible attackers away. Once the whole galaxy has been occupied evenly by both teams, they strike.
To take over a planet one must stay in the capture zone for up to 6 minutes. This is 3 minutes to remove the other team's influence of the planet, and 3 minutes to make it yours. If the planet is unoccupied, there is no need to take 6 minutes, 3 will do.
Eventually, you hear rumors about some ancient building in an enemy territory(there is a war in this world) but you risk going anyways, because there is supposed to be a great treasure there. While you there, you learn about ancient forces that where forced into a near permanent hibernation because of the expansion of buildings and such, making over half of the planet an entire city, the other half being a dark forest kind of place, hosting the creatures that the human race is at war with. Upon further exploration of the ruins, you find an ancient machine. The scriptures near it say that upon activation, it will end all conflict in the world, without using violence. You activate the machine, and the screen starts to white out. When you wake up, your in the middle of a village full of trees, stone buildings, and treehouses(actual houses, not clubhouses) You go through the game, choosing the path you want to take, like warrior, mage, maybe merchant, stuff like that. Anyways, if you start exploring the game world, you will hear more rumors spreading quickly throughout the world that the dragons and wolves are being possesed. When you pursue these rumors, you go to find one of the creatures, and find that they are true. After a short walkthrough, you go about to set its soul in its body, which is when the demon form leaves the dragons/wolves body, and a cutscene activates. It shows your character standing there struck with terror. The demon rips through the air, charging at you. You clench, preparing for impact, but as it hits you a flashback occurs, showing the old futuristic world. Depending on if your a dragonheart, wolfheart, or human, it will be different, but in the end, shows you the location of an old armor and weapon and then the flashback ends. Back in the real world, you start fighting the demon. After you try attacking it for a bit, your journal pops up, and says that you can't seem to be able to kill it, and that leaving is probably your best choice. You hunt down your races senteint armor, in one of the few groves that survived the world wipe, which pretty much reverted the world to its state of being before the humans declared war on all the other races. Once you get the sentient armor, you can defeat the demons. After you slay about half the demons, they evolve into more powerful creatures that can't be defeated by the ring, or even the whole set of armor. So you have to find different ways to kill them instead, which brings you to a prophet of some sort, who sensed youwhere coming, and set up a training zone that tests your patience, intelligence...

Tugapod

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/tugapod/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Tugapod is a MMORPG created by a portuguese team. It will be entering an open beta phase in a few months. Adventurers, vagabonds, and wandering people of all races are cordially invited to take our young world to the test. At first, Arindal will be available in German and Dutch. Other European languages may follow later but there will not be an English version.

With this multiuser online roleplaying game, player participate in the game over the internet, as a healer, mage or fighter in the eternal battle against evil. The world continues to grow through regular updates and the actions of inhabitants have an influence on the development of the world. In Arindal, live quests will be run where the players have to solve puzzles and adventures together. Often, these campaigns take just a few hours but sometimes they may last days.

Arindal is based on the ClanLord engine from Delta Tao Software. A remarkable aspect of this game is that from the first breath of your avatar, everything evolves around teamplay. The various races and classes combine their skills and talents to grow and survive in a dangerous world. It is all about sense of adventure, helping others, cooperation and heroism. Arindal is, in the first instance, a community-game and not a multi-ego-online-roleplaying game. Helped by the clear chat interface, whole groups can easily synchronize their actions and tactics, new players will find themselves involved quickly with clans or hunting parties.

Arindal wants to offer depth, instead of only having a broad world. A world which always contains new things to discover and to explore. Content instead of a nice wrapping. Graphics and animations are limited to a simple 2D environment, but this is more than enough to light the fire of your imagination, but not comparable with what the mainstream market offers.
"We see Arindal as a niche game for [role]players who simply want more game-depth - and who don't need graphical gimmicks for that" says FairTales cofounder David Jacobson.

Behind the game stands licensee FairTales Entertainment from Amstelveen, Holland. In this forge of creativity a large part of the GameMaster team has gathered including those, who, several years ago, helped to bring a similar game (Alchera) to Europe. After the beta phase, Arindal will become commercial, and players will have to pay a monthly fee to continue playing the game.

Looking forward to meet you ingame.
