It features several races, classes, spells, powers, monsters, artifacts, quests, etc. The list could go on and on.

Unlike vanilla angband, ToME has several cities based on a map fitting for J.R.R. Tolkien's works. There are several dungeons you can explore, their levels are randomly generated from their design to contents and quests, but not everything is random, there are special rooms, quests, unique artifacts and unique monsters players can hunt for.

ToME is also an unique rogue-like by the fact that it's not entirely level based, players can customise their characters by increasing skills which range from weaponmastery to necromancy and summoning, just to name a few.

Because it's constantly in development, ToME has a very active community and several MODs player can create and use.

Fringespace

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/fringespace/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

This project is designed to duplicate, as closely as possible, the "feel" of Tachyon: The Fringe, to the Freespace 2 game engine.
In Under Gear, you take the role of one of the many original characters and fight your way through other characters until you fight the evil Saar, A young boy who is the bother to both the striving protagonist, Pilet and ville antagonist Sigma. Both's teams must settle their differences to fight off this new menace.

GAMEPLAY:
This game plays like the all-time favorites: Super Smash Bros Melee. Although it has original and darker characters based in a futuristic setting. One option thats being considered is a multi-player adventure that puts they player in a side-scrolling quest to complete their goals. This mode would be similar to the "arcade" mode, but would only be available to the an and pro tagonist and would be filled with more sub-enemies and tasks.

WTF ITS NOT OUT!?! ! WHY!!!!?:
This game is still under construction due to lack of team members and uncertainty within the crew. This game is completely drawn using mouses and wacom tablets and only includes an animating team of 3, which cannot be on duty at all times. Coding is going smoothly but has to wait on animation during some steps and slows the progress down. Not one character is complete at the moment so animators are needed badly. The game is being made under a zero dollar budget so paying people has to be done through profit. And some of us are considering open-sourcing th game so we may not even earn anything from this.

THIS IS TAKING TOO LONG, CAN I HELP YOU OUT?:
Actually yes. If you want to help complete this beast feel free to PM Joshua Leonard with your request. We could really use it anyhow.

Civilizen

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/civilizen/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Civilizen is a browser-based game that is still under development. Over the past three decades, small groups of drug runners joined forces to take control of virtually all drug distribution in the United States. This new organization, the Cartel, was formed to create a political body for the drug runners. By 2018, they were responsible for 98% of the drugs on the market. Drug usage rates among the general populus were at an all time high. To combat this, Congress passed a bill creating stricter punishments for drug possession, use, trafficking, and sale. Losing profits, the Cartel was desperate to retain their lifestyle. They began recruiting a militia, using drugs to pay their soldiers. Bases sprang up in urban areas, such as New York City and Los Angeles. As they continued to grow in number, rioting broke out nationwide. In response, Congress enacted another law creating a new branch of the ATF, OCAT. OCAT (short for Organized Crime Assault Team) used discarded soldiers are specialized in infiltrating and assaulting these gang army units.

Cyber-Crisis

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/cyber-crisis/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

My first platform game. This simulation is to be used for beginning to advanced astronomers by immersing the player in an accurate simulation of a night sky. Here, they can learn where the constellations are and how to star hop to planets, galaxies, and nebulae.

Ever since I joined my first Astronomy Club and went out under a dark desert sky, I was overwhelmed by how difficult it was to locate constellations since there were so many stars. In the city it is a lot easier to locate constellations since light pollution blocks out the fainter stars, but is also difficult because the lights block out objects I would be trying to find. The hardest thing about astronomy is that it takes practice to truly learn the sky and to take into account for weather conditions, light pollution, and general driving distances.

We decided to create Dark Skies so that astronomers could explore the stars and other objects that they have been wanting to locate before they leave home and make the 60 mile journey to observe.

This is an online multi-player 3D simulator designed with TGE + AFX and is planned for release on Windows, Mac, and Linux. The simulation will create a simulated star party where up to 16 players can join and select one of 3 models of telescopes such as refractors, newtonians, or cassegrains. Players are able to use the telescopes to locate objects and can step away from the instrument without losing the location so that other players can look through the scope and learn where these astronomical gems are located.

Dark Skies is intended for instructing, and for learning experiences at your comfort. Bob, your friendly ranger, will work along side of you to assure your progress and understanding of the mysterious dark sky above.

Hot Space Injection

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/projecthsi/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

This is a multiplayer Flash based 4X game which pretty much adheres to the style of Master of Orion 1 and 2. You play as either four survivors that try to go from Point A to Point B, or you have the choice to play as one of the many zombie bosses. Now you may think this will get repetitive in time, but that's not true. The gameplay is different every time you play. Now this game heavily depends on teamwork, if you stroll along by yourself, your going to most certainly die. Weapon choice is simple, you can use MP5's to Uzis. The story is that the in a city have been infected with a sort of rabies that have turned them into zombies. These zombies aren't slow, they're fast and have the ability to climb fences. Oh, I forgot friendly fire is always on, so don't be trigger happy, and also don't jump right in front of your teammates expecting you won't get hurt, because you will. Why is friendly fire always on? The fact is, it makes the game more challenging. If there was no friendly fire, the game would too easy and would be a breeze to finish.

Thinkin'in

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/thinkin/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Thinkin'in is a Logic , memory and hability game with two game modes (training and exam) with ten minigames, two Languages( English - Spanish ) and local Ranking.

Moon Base One

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/mbo/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

 What is the game?
The game is a persistent online world that will connect kids from around the country to participate in an educational experience.

Why create this game?
The purpose of creating the game is to infuse the younger generation with a passion for science and technology and to help give them knowledge of cutting edge science in a format that they are readily accustomed to and less resistant to like a text book.

Who is the game designed for, what is the target audience?
The target audience for Moon Base One is students from middle school to early high school. The game, however will appeal to people of all ages who are interested in space exploration and scientific discovery, which will attract players from both younger and older age groups.

Where does the game take place?
The game takes place on the first commercial moon base created on the moon in the near future. There will be planned expansions to the game taking players to different planets/moons such as Mars.

What do I control?
Players will control a newly arrived worker to the base who will assist in many tasks in order to facilitate in the smooth operation of the base.

How many characters do I control?
Players will initially control one character per account to save on storage space and allow for easier verification of accomplishments and medal awards.

What is the main focus?
The players’ goals will vary as the game matures and new content is added. Initially players will be able to solve missions gaining their avatar many customizations such as the ability to use various vehicles, and add cosmetic changes to their avatar such as external lights, different player skins, and additional equipment.

What is Different?
There are very few examples of persistent worlds that are used as an educational tool, in fact I cannot honestly think of any. There is a huge gap when it comes to educational software entertainment software. Its educational games are pretty much limited to games such as math blaster, which not only just appeals to a very young audience, but ceases to be marketed past its small target audience. Moon Base One will be revolutionary in that it will merge both real life and the virtual in that in game accomplishments can reward the player with certificates and medals. Players will also learn about cutting edge real world technology so that adults can feel comfortable with their kids playing the game and view it as educational software.

Delivery Boy

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/delivery/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

A game about Danny who sets out to deliver boxes, pizzas, hearts and livers to win the heart of the girl of his dreams, Sally.
