Taking place from a side-on perspective the game features many elements of both platform and action games. The game focuses around the day/night cycle, hence the name, where the player scavenges supplies during the day when zombies are less common, then returns to base at night to defend from the zombie hordes. The rest of the storyline is still a working progress...
The gameplay is purely adventure/platformer. There are no enemies in the game, which might scare away a lot of gamers, but its more about story, finding new items, planting seeds, and more.
What makes it unique is the fact that there is no enemies, the art is very cool, and its going to be a storyline with a lot of twists, turns, and comedy.

Prism is an action adventure platform game featuring a character comprised of two contrasting software systems; a creative artificial intelligence and a restrictive algorithm. Roaming from level to level to neutralise viruses in a corrupted server network, Routine404 is able to take three principle forms: Biped Mode, Jet Mode and Pure Mode.

It is also possible for Routine404 to take the form of its enemies in later stages of the game after being subjected to enemy code. The game world takes place across 7 nodes of the server network. Each node is split into rooms called cells, and each node is joined by a vertical scrolling shoot-em up section where Routine404 is in Jet Mode throughout.

Some levels begin with 3D cut scene animation for storytelling purposes, and some actions such as opening doors or defeating end-of-level enemies trigger short 3D animated clips.

As the player progresses through the game, an increased effort is made to draw the player's attention to his/her interaction with the game. The purpose of which is to generate a perspective of self reference; one that encourages the player to question their role within the game, and the role of the game (and interactive media as a whole) in their life.

The climax of the game reveals that the enemy and hero are one and the same; both created for the purpose of storytelling by a force that remains elusive.

The reward for completion of the game is a generative level; one that is created dynamically at run time for the player to obtain a high score among a community of players.

Meebles

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/Meebles/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

You play as Bleeb, a small blue ball that just loves coins. It consists of 4 single-screen levels with a different key feature on each. Even in BBC Micro terms it was early and simplistic, so don't expect too much from it.

Originally this game was started as an entry for a Retro Remakes competition.

Pogo Fred

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/PogoFred/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Pogo Fred is a fun platform adventure featuring blue pyjama wearing Fred and his new friend Adrian the Pogostick. Fred has no idea where he is, or what has gone on, but eventually with your help, he will learn the truth!

Pogo Fred was designed for my third year of Multimedia Technology & Design at the University of Kent. PF is coded in Blitzmax with music written (by me) in MilkyTracker and most of the graphics drawn in Macromedia Flash (and then edited in Paintshop Pro X). It's taken 9 months to code and is admittedly a bit rushed to meet the deadline set but it has taught me alot about coding as well as the media that goes with it. I've also learnt an awful lot about planning and how important it can be to make a project run smoothly (recoded the editor from scratch 3 times :/).

Anyhoooo enough yapping, this is the first chapter and I hope you enjoy it!

Dizzy's Bad Day

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/dbd/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

***FIRST OFF UNDER 18 OR EASILY OFFENDED PEOPLE DON'T PLAY****

Dizzy's bad day was my entry into the 2003 Retro Remakes remakes competition.

It won the comedy prize due to it's rather adult take on the Dizzy series.

It is an authentic style Dizzy game with coins to collect, characters to interact with and puzzles to be completed.
Puzzles may involve dildos, drugs and huge false moustaches but it's all in the standard Dizzy format :D.

The flimsy plot is that Dizzy's porn shop has exploded, scattering his wares accross the land.
His parents are coming to visit so he must gather everything up before they arrive and save his embarrasment.

The game is NOT for the easily offended, as the big 18 signs on the title screen may indicate.

Look out for a cameo by Magic Knight ;)

Ruff 'n' Tumble Remake

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/ruffntumbleremake/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

A young Ruff Rogers was happily playing with his marbles (ooohey!) in his local park. When suddenly one happened to go a stray and fall down a nearby rabbit hole. Not knowing this hole was a teleport to another dimension, he reaches down to see if he can retrieve it. To his suprise, he suddenly gets sucked into the darkness.

Ruff now dazed and confused, finds himself on an alien planet which is run by Mr evil himself, Dr Destiny. He also discovers that this mad doctor controls a fearsome army of robots called the tinheads. Furthermore, he spots his marble collection is now lying scattered throughout the planet. As you can imagine, Ruff is a little displeased with his current predicament. So with this, he makes the decision to accumulate his marble collection once more and save the planet from the evil clutches of Dr Destiny and his Tinhead Army.

Pogo Sticker

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/pogosticker/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

This is certainly not an average platformer! This is what you get when you make a "Jump'n'Run" game, but leave out the Run. It's all jumping from start to beginning, and you aren't allowed to stop bouncing around.
Brushing the dirt aside he was able to read (after a great deal of head scratching) the faint inscription 'The Avawiffovee Potion' Dizzy remembered his Eggfather had spoke of such a potion. 'It is the only way to rid our land of athletes foot, and it can also be used to destroy the Evil Wizard Zaks.' Dizzy trembled with fear as he recalled these words. Zaks brought fear to the village, he cast spells that turned people old, made men blind and caused it to rain every Sunday afternoon during Cricket. Dizzy was determined to put a stop to all this, he would be the hero of the yolkfolk. He read on... 'Fill a potion bottle with cooked Leprechauns wig, cloud silver lining, Vampire dux feather and some troll brew - cook the potion and throw it at Zaks to dissolve his reign.' A prison riot occurs and the experiment goes horribly wrong. You play Miner Willy who must jump around the various levels collecting all the flashing objects to get to the next level.

What makes it different from most MM clones is that it was designed to work with just 1 key as part of a competition to help get more games out there playable by disabled gamers.
Miner Willy is in constant motion and turns when he hits a solid object.
The space key jumps him.
