In this one, Red is back and being a pain. So Spyro and all his friends, (Hunter, Sgt Bird etc) are back and join forces to take on Red and his army.

There are lots of min-games in this one where you become the other 'Heros' and some of these are the most fun in the game.

As you would expect Spyro learns some new moves and I had a lot of fun playing and finishing this one with my kids.

Highly Recommended.

Spyro the Dragon

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/Spyro/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Spyro the Dragon is a platform game developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation. It stars the title character, a young purple dragon named Spyro, and is regarded as one of the best platforming games for the PlayStation console.

Magic Carpet

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/magiccarpet/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

After mana was discovered in the world, countless wizards became corrupted and a huge war broke out. A single wizard used a spell that was too powerful to try to fix everything and instead shattered the world. You play as his only apprentice and are trying to set everything correct again. You do this by fighting monsters, and corrupted wizards from a magic carpet.

As you progress through the game you gain more and more powerful spells, yet you also must fight more opponents at the same time. The goal is to destroy the enemy wizard which will leave his castle vulnerable. Then you need to destroy his castle.

This game was extremely innovative for its time, and implemented things that to this day are still not implemented into games very well. It pioneered dynamically lighted terrain that could be morphed in real-time with spells. If you cast volcano the ground would rip open and a huge volcano would form morphing and effecting everything around it. In addition water reflected the environment, there was distance fog, transparency, and even particle effects.

The game was developed by Bullfrog Studio with none other than Peter Molyneux heading it, which is why it was so ahead of its time. The game even supports up to 8 person multiplayer matches.

Earth's Special Forces

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/esforces/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Earth's Special Forces, also known as ESF is a very popular half-life modification based on the hit anime series, Dragonball Z. The mod includes nine of your favorite characters who are able to duke it out using numerous beam attacks as well as close hand to hand combat. ESF mixes both elements to bring players intense fast paced with a twist of strategy. Each character is geared towards a different style of play. Some are meant to mainly use energy attacks, while others have the advantage in melee fights.
No matter what style of fighting you like to use, esf has a way to accomadate you.

ESF has been in the making for the better part of three years. The team continuely tries to push the half-life engine to it's limits in order to produce the most playably accurate Dragonball Z game around.

Every self-respecting fantasy game has dragons, and nine times out of ten it's your job to slay the evil things. But Drakan: Order of the Flame is one of those rarer occasions when the dragon actually does your bidding. Drakan first comes across as a third-person action game like any other in the quickly burgeoning genre, but you'll know this game is onto something early on, when lanky redheaded heroine Rynn releases the kindly old dragon Arokh and takes to the skies on his back. Add great graphics, mean monsters, deadly traps, and huge areas to explore both from the sky and on foot, and you'll see that Drakan is clearly one of the better games in its class, even if it doesn't seem especially original. After all, Rynn's just a medieval Lara Croft riding on your average dragon. You won't remember Drakan for its characters, but you'll have fun playing it.
