Over the past three decades, small groups of drug runners joined forces to take control of virtually all drug distribution in the United States. This new organization, the Cartel, was formed to create a political body for the drug runners. By 2018, they were responsible for 98% of the drugs on the market. Drug usage rates among the general populus were at an all time high. To combat this, Congress passed a bill creating stricter punishments for drug possession, use, trafficking, and sale. Losing profits, the Cartel was desperate to retain their lifestyle. They began recruiting a militia, using drugs to pay their soldiers. Bases sprang up in urban areas, such as New York City and Los Angeles. As they continued to grow in number, rioting broke out nationwide. In response, Congress enacted another law creating a new branch of the ATF, OCAT. OCAT (short for Organized Crime Assault Team) used discarded soldiers are specialized in infiltrating and assaulting these gang army units.

Close Quarters Conflict

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/closequartersconflict/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Private Military Corporations (PMCs) have become big business, as small governments and large multi-national corporations have increasingly come to rely on the flexibility, value and discretion that PMCs provide in their security schemes.

In 2006, the Darkrock Corp. announced its intention to provide the full spectrum of security needs to anyone with pockets deep enough to engage their services. Two years later, Lubriconn International retained the services of Darkrock to secure the release of oil crews held hostage by the Venezuelan government, beginning a series of events that led to the overthrow of the democratically elected government of Venezuela by the Darkrock Corporation; leaving the country in the stewardship of the oil conglomerate Lubriconn.

As Lubriconn’s grip on the global oil market tightens, EurOil, the second largest oil company in the world, retains the services of Force Objective International, Darkrock’s principal competitor in the PMC business, to regain control of those oil production facilities and other energy producing assets that Darkrock had seized at the behest of Lubriconn. Now, these two corporations, staffed with the cream of the Specwar crop (Navy SEALs, US Army Recon Rangers, SAS, GIGN, SPEZNAZ), square off in squad combat around the world, the ultimate mercenaries. Where governments can’t or won’t get involved, when lobbying fails, the PMCs will answer the call… if the price is right.

warpath

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/warpath/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

One planet amidst a sea of lifeless stars holds the promise of life, faith, and a new beginning for two different alien races, each coveting it for their own. You play as either four survivors that try to go from Point A to Point B, or you have the choice to play as one of the many zombie bosses. Now you may think this will get repetitive in time, but that's not true. The gameplay is different every time you play. Now this game heavily depends on teamwork, if you stroll along by yourself, your going to most certainly die. Weapon choice is simple, you can use MP5's to Uzis. The story is that the in a city have been infected with a sort of rabies that have turned them into zombies. These zombies aren't slow, they're fast and have the ability to climb fences. Oh, I forgot friendly fire is always on, so don't be trigger happy, and also don't jump right in front of your teammates expecting you won't get hurt, because you will. The game features a large number of weapons, a large number of playable characters, with alternate skins, and a large number of arenas to play in. Besides several multiplayer modes, the game offers a single-player game which consists of several bouts linked together versus bots.

The game is set apart by other arena based first-person shooters by focusing on tactical-based combat with four players in small levels. The game is also unique in the way that you choose your weapons before the match, all you need is to collect ammo in order to use your chosen weapons. You are allowed two bullet weapons, two energy weapons, and one explosive weapon. The player is also given a warhammer that does not consume ammunition.

All of the games playable characters are humanoid except for two, the raptor, and the mites. The raptor and mites do not use weapons, instead they use their claws for melee attacks. The mites also have a poison spitting ability.

The game has a few picksup available for the player, deployable auto-turrets, mines, the Cerebral Bore, and bear traps. A powercore can also be picked up at a designated location which gives the player one of many randomly picked abilities, invulnerability, slow-time, life leech, weapon resistances, regeneration, and teleport, among others.

Rage Wars has 50 medals that are earned through playing multiplayer matches, except for 4 of them awarded for defeating bosses in single player. Medals exist for killing sprees, large numbers of kills, deaths, suicides, strict usage of certain weapons, and so forth.

Unique weapons in the game include the Boomerang, the Emaciator and Inflator, the Chest Burster, which has the ability to spawn an alien from a player's chest causing instant death, the Flare Gun, and the Napalm Gel launcher. SWAT3 remains the biggest selling title of the SWAT series,[citation needed] and is the only member of the SWAT series to come close to the popularity of the earlier titles of the Police Quest series, from which it originated.

As the first first-person shooter of the Police Quest/SWAT games, SWAT3 received a new game engine with cell and portal technologies for simulation of environments, and advanced AI and ballistics. The developers spent some time with LAPD SWAT, studying tactics in order to create an accurate, realistic simulation. Most of the animations in the game were motion captured, acted out by a SWAT officer.

The player assumes the role of a Los Angeles Police Department SWAT element leader, in command of a five-man element. Over a number of missions, the player has to defend the city from violent criminals, terrorists and the threat of a nuclear weapon, and prevent disruption of an important treaty signing. The game also features multiplayer including traditional Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes in addition to Paintball mode and Cooperative play through the single player missions.

SWAT 3 was succeeded by SWAT 4 in April 2005, development and publishing being transferred to Irrational Games and Sierra owner Vivendi Universal.
