One or two players must make their way through 100 levels of mayhem and magic.

It featured a choice of four characters to play with, each with different weapons. Thor the Warrior, has a bludgeoning battle axe, Thyra the Valkyrie, has a close range sword, Questor the Elf has his long range bow, and Merlin the Wizard has magical bolts.

Ghosts, goblins and even the life draining Death are your enemies. Enemies stream out of generators, so destroy these before tackling the rest.

Keys are needed to open the many doors within the levels, and in some situations a door will contain only bonus items, not a progressive route. Scattered magic potions act like smart bombs and clear the screen of all enemies. Beware of poison though, this reduces your energy level. Treasure is abundant throughout the levels and adds to your score.

california games

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/caligames/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

California Games is a 1987 Epyx sports video game for many home computers and video game consoles.
It took the Multi-Player Control mechanic introduced in Arch Rivals to the next level; allowing Players to control up to six sword-wielding savages at a time.

The game was more like rugby than football; and the non-stop action, both on and off screen, often left players exhausted after a full 14 minute, four period game!

At least one home version was created, though it was renamed Jerry Glanville's Pigskin for some marketing reason that I never really understood.

Arch Rivals

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/ArchRivals/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Before Arch Rivals, arcade "basketball" games were simple "aim the ball" novelty devices. By letting each Player control multiple teammates, both directly and indirectly, Arch Rivals allowed Players to employ real basketball strategies and plays.

However, the game might best be remembered for the fact that characters could punch each other in the face, "pants" each other and even tackle opposing players...
You play a knight mounted on an ostrich. You must use your lance to joust against wave after wave of enemies. The only controls you have are to flap your wings and to move left and right, making it quite easy to get into the game. You may defeat an opponent by colliding with them with your lance higher than theirs.

When you beat an enemy, they drop an egg. If you let it hatch by not collecting it, it will spawn a tougher enemy than the one who dropped the egg.

Other dangers include a lava pit at the bottom of the screen, a lava troll which tries to drag you into the lava pit, and a very tough-to-beat pterodactyl which appears if you take too long on a level.
It is considered to be Street Fighter's "cousin", and the two series are set in the same universe (characters like Guy, Hugo Andore, Rolento, Cody Travers and Poison have all appeared in later Street Fighter installments). Final Fight was originally released as an arcade game and was ported to several platforms, including the Super NES, Sega Mega-CD, Sharp X68000 and Game Boy Advance. It features former wrestler (as seen in Saturday Night Slam Masters), and mayor of Metro City (Capcom's fictitious city, modeled after New York City), Mike Haggar.

The story of Final Fight involves the abduction of Haggar's daughter, Jessica, because he would not work with Mad Gear to ensure their dominance of the streets. When the Mad Gear thug Damnd contacts Haggar and informs him, Haggar calls up his daughter's boyfriend Cody and his sparring partner Guy, and the three vigilantes head into the streets to bust Mad Gear's skulls, fighting their way through the hordes of goons littering the city (including the Rastafarian thug Damnd, the "Japanophile" Sodom, former Red Beret and militia leader Rolento, corrupt cop Edi. E, and the ill-tempered Abigail), to get to Mad Gear's boss, Belger.

Final Fight, whilst following in the footsteps of Double Dragon, was an innovative and balanced game. Unlike several beat 'em ups before it, Final Fight featured very large and detailed sprites for its day, and the controls were quite fluid and simple. Beginners could take to the game quickly, yet the game was balanced and difficult enough to ensure even experts could always expect a challenge for every new play. The game also began the strength-based, speed-based, and average character variety that countless other beat 'em up and other genres derived, as one controls Haggar (very powerful yet very slow and vulnerable to attack), Guy (very agile and can use hit-and-run, yet has weak offensive power), or Cody (who balances strength and speed, being an excellent choice for beginners). It also featured very long levels and various powerful enemies that could easily crowd the screen and had several fighting tactics against the player. It was not uncommon to hear people talk of how crowds would gather to watch whoever was playing the machine at the time.

In The Groove 2

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/inthegroove/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

This Game Es A Clone Of DDR But Its More Difficulty Than The Gay DDR Song If You Can Play It,You Are Lucky Offer Suport To USB Memory And Custom Songs

Pac-man

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/pac-man/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Control a yellow circle, eating dots in a maze while evading the four ghosts.
The gameplay has fairly standard fighting controls (two punch, two kick, two assist). There are also combo and super combo moves, as well as combos that can be done with more than one character.

The Story Behind PixelShips:

In the year 2049, a new toy was invented to bridge the generation gap, uniting people of all ages together in friendly competition: PixelShips. Each ship is designed to meet specialized standards so that no matter how young or old you are you can enjoy them just the same.

Most PixelShips are only a foot or two long and are flown using special devices called PICCs, or PixelShip Interface Command Consoles. The consoles have two joysticks and six buttons on each stick and can interface with any ship that has been registered into it. Some PICCs also have LCD displays so that you don't need a TV to see what your PixelShip sees while it flies.

Each PixelShip uses batteries, just like any other toy, though some use Micro-Reactors instead and are fueled at special facilities so that childeren cannot actually access the fuel inside. They are also designed out of segments held together by micro-magnets. When the ship is "destroyed" in combat, its micro-magnets disengage and the ship flies apart into its seperate segments, each still carrying a residual charge from the ship's anti-gravity unit. If all of the segments are then tagged by another PixelShip, that collector may then, under official guidelines, possess the ship if he so desires.

Classic PixelShips takes place in the year 2076 when a very secretive PixelShip has supposedly been built. Your task is to collect all 160 known PixelShips by earning them through campaign battles at the arena. Afterwards, you will be given access to a special campaign where you may earn this unique and unheard of PixelShip.

The Terror

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/theterror/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

The Terror is a top down vertical scrolling arcade shooter. Basically its a single level game built around JumpStart. The Map to play on is randomly selected from a set list (currently 4 maps) and play exists of you trying to destroy all of the enemies on the screen. Some maps are generated procedurely and some are hard coded.

In the relased version sound is supported (turned off by default, turn it on in the options screen). I'll warn you now that the sound can get a bit annoing. Luckily you can press escape, go to options, turn it off, back, and resume game.

Graphics are completely from SpriteLib GPL. If anyone wants to take the time to create real graphics for the game I'd be happy to add them in and add on a credits screen.

Natto-Cat

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/natto-cat/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Natto-Cat is a unique, cute but violent Boulderdash style arcade game. You play as cyborg cat RB51, exploring underground caves and collecting cat snacks.

Dangers include falling dried plums and walking, exploding bowls of custard. Furthermore, some cat snacks have been force-fed to cave rabbits, who also explode! And keep an eye out for expanding green peas, which can quickly fill a cave or block the exit...

When enemies explode, blood (or custard) splatters on nearby objects... so the game is a bit violent.

A cave editor is also included so you can make your own caves.

Star Wars Arcade

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/www/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

A remake of the classic 1984 Atari Vector game Star Wars

Killer Instinct 2

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/killerinstinct2/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Killer Instinct 2 is a 1996 arcade-only fighting game developed by Rare Ltd., licensed by Nintendo, and manufactured by Midway. KI2 is the sequel to Killer Instinct (1994), an arcade game which was also ported to the SNES. Like its predecessor, the game features two 8-way joysticks with six buttons each for attacks (three punch and three kick), allowing for both a single player mode or a two player versus mode. A modified version of KI2 appeared on the Nintendo 64 as Killer Instinct Gold in 1997.

KI2 follows on from the plot line that the previous installment ended with. Eyedol's death at the hands of Orchid accidentally sets off a time warp, transporting some of the combatants back in time and allowing the Demon Lord Gargos to escape from Limbo. Now, trapped 2000 years in the past, the warriors that survived Killer Instinct, along with several new faces, fight for the right to face Gargos in combat. Each character that survived the journey from the first game has a corresponding background story, while new characters on this installment are native inhabitants of this past time period. Some fighters, like T.J. Combo who survives from the original, just want to get home. Others, like new character Tusk, want to bring an end to Gargos and his reign of evil. This time there is no tournament or prize money, just a fight to the finish with the fate of the future hanging in the balance.

As with most fighting games and indeed its predecessor, two characters square off with the goal of depleting the opponent's life bar. As with the original Killer Instinct, when a player's original life bar is fully depleted, s/he will fall the ground, and immediately begin on their second lifebar.

As with the first game, Killer Instinct 2 relies on an automatic combo subsystem in its matches. Additionally, a Super bar has been added to the game (similar to Street Fighter Alpha or King of Fighters). This super bar fills as players take damage. After the bar reaches a certain point, the player can use a multi-hit super special move (normally referred to as Super Move,) which is usually an extended version of a normal special move.

Nba Jam

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/NBAjam/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

The hilariously unrealistic, cartoon-style basketball that you've paid up to five bucks a shot for in the arcades is now scaled down for the Super Nintendo.
