It's a WWII themed FPS game, but it's not as realistic as say CoD. It has realistic textures, but the movements are Quake 3 style and it's also very fast paced like Quake 3. It's one of the best game out there in my opinion. The combination of a realistic theme with an unrealistic gameplay is just awesome. Try it out for yourself, you'll get hooked.

Danger from the Deep

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/dangerfromthedeep/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Danger from the Deep is a World War II german submarine simulator. The goal is to make a simulation game with strong emphasis on strategy and realism, that never the less is interesting to play.

While the game can be downloaded and played, it should be noted that the game is still in an early development stage.

Jagdgeschwader

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/jagdgeschwader/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

This game was my entry for the 2005 Pascal Game Developement competition which was themed about dog-fights. It scored me the second place back then.

In Jagdgeschwader two people can select from different WWII airplanes and then are pitted against each other till death. There are different scenarios, different planes, bonus crates to pick up and much more.

The game is fully 3D (using OpenGL) and also has full sound effects and background music. It can be played on one PC via split-screen or over the network (2 players). For the semi-realistic flight-model it's using the Newton Game Dynamics Engine.
The player is able to control a group of Allies' paratroopers in special missions in enemy territories situated throughout Europe. Thanks to the three-dimensional depiction and chosen subject, we succeeded in dynamically combining the elements of 3D action and tactical strategy. The player can control any of four commando members from several 3D views and, at the same time, he can program on a tactical map the tasks for the rest of the team. Numerous new features and ideas give the game an original and absolutely unique atmosphere. The player is drawn right into the action.

Target Tobruk

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/targettobruk/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Very challenging and realistic multiplayer combat flight simulation focusing on lesser known fighters of the Mediterranean Theater, with particular emphasis on Italian aircraft, although RAF and luftwaffe types are well represented. Fantastic aircraft art and realistic flight models characterize the series. Would be pilots will be challenged by the detailed engine and systems management, which varies from type to type.
You have to fight your way through multiple levels and multiple different wars. The wars range from WWII, to a future alien war. This mini masterpiece allows players to recreate World War Two in Europe. Players choose the Axis, Soviets or Allies in different scenarios of increasing complexity.
Operation Barbarossa is the first scenario covering the Axis attack on the U.S.S.R. This scenario serves as an introduction to the game covering movement, combat and production.

The Fall Of Germany Scenario adds the Allies and rules for Sea Movement, Amphibious Invasions and Forts.

The two Campaign games cover the entire war from 1939 and add the rest of the rules chiefly Research, Nationality and special units such as Tactical Air and Paratroops.

The Windows version of the game has hot seat and network play for each of these scenarios. This means 2 or 3 friends can battle it out on the same computer or over a LAN or the internet. There is no AI player or EMail support at present.

A Path Beyond

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/APB/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss
