Soldiers donning mechanized suits of nano armor now push across the frozen landscape to regain control of the most advanced scientific facility known to man. White Rock Research Facility(WWRF) is how the civilians recognize it but, to the soldiers it is the most heavily fortified location on Earth.

Sphere Of War

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/sphereofwar/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Sphere of War is a FREE online multiplayer strategy game. It's a WWII themed FPS game, but it's not as realistic as say CoD. It has realistic textures, but the movements are Quake 3 style and it's also very fast paced like Quake 3. It's one of the best game out there in my opinion. The combination of a realistic theme with an unrealistic gameplay is just awesome. Try it out for yourself, you'll get hooked.

Stratagus

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/stratagus/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Stratagus was previously an open source project known as 'Freecraft', and its original purpose was to re-create the Warcraft 2 engine to the point of 100% playability. It succeeded in that goal and decided to move on towards other more challenging goals. Stratagus is now a general use open source engine that a large number of games have based themselves upon, such as Wargus, Battle of Survival, InsectWar, and more.

Danger from the Deep

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/dangerfromthedeep/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Danger from the Deep is a World War II german submarine simulator. The goal is to make a simulation game with strong emphasis on strategy and realism, that never the less is interesting to play.

While the game can be downloaded and played, it should be noted that the game is still in an early development stage.

Proximity

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/proximity/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

I made this game in 2005 as just a little thing to do in between projects, and it's spread to just about everywhere on the internet that has games and is my most popular game by far.

It takes all the elements in common strategy game and distills them down to their core: competing for territory and having battles. However, in this game, once a tile is placed, it can no longer be moved, only captured, so unlike most strategy games, a game of Proximity is usually over in about 10 minutes. Also, since the rules are pretty simple, it appeals to a lot of people who aren't normally into the big, unwieldly, and complex strategy games out there.

I'm currently working on a sequel, as well as looking for ways to get the game onto consoles, and hopefully a board game version eventually.

Rail fo War

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/RailofWar/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

 Invasion!

The enemy creeps across our land, isolating our troops! As a train conductor, you too must help with the war effort. You load your train up with troops, generators, civilians, and an array of weapons to fight off the enemy as they attack you on the Rails.

It has an extremely simple interface, quickly and effectively allowing you to control things like Boxcars and the position of your guns. The graphics are surprisingly rich and smooth, and the ingame tutorial and simplistic design work wonders.

Snow WAR

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/snowwar/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Snow WAR is a fast and furious all-out snow battle with a strategic twist! Either set up and try different methods to wage a war of frosty combat or just go at it and pelt a friend for fun! The first one to get the other team eating snow first, wins!

Each team start with a human player and 12 computer controlled kids. Players can give commands to kids on their team to form basic strategies, as well as take part in the action themselves.

Each character on the screen can take 5 hits with a snowball before they are "out". Computer controlled kids can only be brought back into the action with a "Cocoa Run". Each time a player hits a member of the other team with a snowball, the Cocoa Meter fills up a little. Once it is full a kid will run onto the screen and revive a kid with yummy hot cocoa! Player are automatically revived in 10 seconds as long as there are members of his team left.

The last team left standing is the winning team!

Valandria - Fields of War

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/vfow/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

 TBA April 2007

WarScathed: Revolution

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/warscathed/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

WarScathed is a new FPS game being developed by Grizzly Productions.
