Household robots Rock and Roll were created by master robot designer, Dr Light, and were enjoying their peaceful days. Then one day, the industrial robots all over the world went on a rampage and the world fell into total chaos. Dr Light quickly realized that mad scientist, Dr Wily, was behind the nefarious deed but he didn't know what to do. Rock, having a strong sense of justice, volunteered to be converted into a fighting robot. Thus the super robot Mega Man was born. Mega Man shattered Dr Wily's plans three times and world peace has been maintained so far.... but history repeats itself. Dr Cossack, a mysterious scientist, has invented eight powerful robots and sent then after Mega Man. The game is a persistent online world that will connect kids from around the country to participate in an educational experience.

Why create this game?
The purpose of creating the game is to infuse the younger generation with a passion for science and technology and to help give them knowledge of cutting edge science in a format that they are readily accustomed to and less resistant to like a text book.

Who is the game designed for, what is the target audience?
The target audience for Moon Base One is students from middle school to early high school. The game, however will appeal to people of all ages who are interested in space exploration and scientific discovery, which will attract players from both younger and older age groups.

Where does the game take place?
The game takes place on the first commercial moon base created on the moon in the near future. There will be planned expansions to the game taking players to different planets/moons such as Mars.

What do I control?
Players will control a newly arrived worker to the base who will assist in many tasks in order to facilitate in the smooth operation of the base.

How many characters do I control?
Players will initially control one character per account to save on storage space and allow for easier verification of accomplishments and medal awards.

What is the main focus?
The players’ goals will vary as the game matures and new content is added. Initially players will be able to solve missions gaining their avatar many customizations such as the ability to use various vehicles, and add cosmetic changes to their avatar such as external lights, different player skins, and additional equipment.

What is Different?
There are very few examples of persistent worlds that are used as an educational tool, in fact I cannot honestly think of any. There is a huge gap when it comes to educational software entertainment software. Its educational games are pretty much limited to games such as math blaster, which not only just appeals to a very young audience, but ceases to be marketed past its small target audience. Moon Base One will be revolutionary in that it will merge both real life and the virtual in that in game accomplishments can reward the player with certificates and medals. Players will also learn about cutting edge real world technology so that adults can feel comfortable with their kids playing the game and view it as educational software.

Cyber-Crisis

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/cyber-crisis/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

My first platform game. Far off in space away from Earth, two mysterious robots were also locked in battle, with one of the combatants losing fast. The failing robot, the one bent on destruction and hatred, begins a descent into Earth's atmosphere. The other robot races after it, but is too late to stop the evil robot from breaking up and sending it's remains down to the surface. The resulting crash alerts both Dr. Light and Dr. Wily, but Wily manages to find the crash site before Mega Man can. Racing to the scene, Mega Man finds Dr. Wily fleeing with a piece from the crash site, a small meteor which he claims can give him the power to take over the world. Escaping in a small capsule, Wily leaves Mega Man alone at the crash site, but Mega Man discovers the damaged body of the other robot in the remains, and quickly takes it back to Dr. Light for repairs. The Story:

It was the year 9820 when an intergalactic war broke out between the Thydarrons and the Gochectk Republic. Because of the 4190 'Fair Trade And Peace Settlement' , Earth was once again inclined to intervene on behalf of Gochectks. But no-one knew, no-one could have imagined the outcome.

Now 30 years after the attack, the Thydarrons have returned to claim the fiery aftermath once called Earth. Only a small colony of human survivors and their one remaining Battle-Bot stand in the way. These, the strongest and most resourceful of humans, coordinate their defense from a secret military space station known as 'Hugo12c', located somewhere within the old Vegain5 galaxy.

You are 'E-5', a multifunction Battle-Bot designed and created by the human survivors and governed by a highly sophisticated, and heavily armed military satellite (J.U.D.D) under the control of 'L.E.X.' who is the brain of 'Hugo12c' and your prime commander. You have been teleported to an old abandoned transport station on earth where J.U.D.D will brief you on your first mission.

The Main Character:

Evil5, as you have been so lovingly named by your human creator, are a 40th century Battle-Bot who's not only seen a lot of action but has developed a personality all his own. Your multifunction capabilities make you the perfect candidate for almost any purpose. Some of your more signature design specs include a level-8 energy condenser (main weapon) and the newest Hydroplasmalic-Evap technology (your jet-pack).

Not only can your jet-pack send you shooting into the air, it also makes insanely high speeds on the ground just as possible! Unlimited transport beacons give you the strategic edge that your limited energy chambers do not. You'll find these functions to often be more than just fun...you're gonna need them!

Level 1 overview:

In an attempt to prevent any wayward survivors from reclaiming the transport station, the Thydarrons have begun to 'beam down' a series of bombs onto the teleport hubs. Your mission is to disarm these bombs before they EXPLODE, damaging the teleport hubs and making it difficult for the humans to secure the area and impossible for you to ever go home.

The game play:

EVIL5 level 1 is a fast paced, race against time! In this mission your not going to be able to get by simply based on how fast you can unload and reload your weapons...there is nothing to shoot at. Your not the hunter, nor are you the hunted. This mission is brains over brawn, and quite a challenge at that. The time limit comes into play as each bomb is set to detonate in 60 seconds! But don't wait until the last minute, these bombs reconfigure themselves, becoming more difficult to disarm with every second you let pass.

There are 3 pickups that appear randomly as well throughout the game world, 2 of which are essential and another that is simply helpful.

You will find yourself pacing back and forth between the bombs and the required utilities with which to disarm them...but that is where strategy comes into play and where your beacons come in handy. Simply plant a beacon near a bomb, go get your pickups and then instantly teleport back! If stuff does happen to blow up in your face...and it will...simply go to the nearest repair station where nanotron technology will make you feel all better.

Bonus points are awarded for disarming them quickly.

The main character and all the enemies seem to be robotic in nature.

Subject 33

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/subject33/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

A arcade-style maze game with robots and cool weapons. A few influences from FPS genres are added however. The premise of this game is pitting a human up against an evolving robot AI that learns from the player's actions. I am hoping to boast various types of AI techniques through development.

SpiderTrap

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/spidertrap/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Rocket Rita's Revenge

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/rocketrita/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss
