The gameplay focuses on exploring a strange world and learning new abilities with blocks, not only to defeat enemies but to reach places that would otherwise be unreachable.

Voyage Centuary Online

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/VoyageCentuary/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Huge game world: free travel over seven seas, 1026 findings, 206 kinds of ships, 54 ports and 14 empires.

PvP System: PK, guild war, city battle and world war.

Free Profession: want to be a pirate, a merchant or a explorer? You must build up and army to do this however. As you are building your town you must build/upgrade your structures. One item that will help alot is researching different fields off science. Once you have a certain level of understanding your can create unique "wonders" that no other player can construct. ""Warning"" your wonders can become obsolete along with different structures if your enemies build a new "wonder" thats properties cancel out those of your wonder. The more modern versions tend to hurt alot more than the older ones as far as your armies strength is concerned. There where to date 3 other PC versions released as well as several console versions. This game no matter how old still will interest people because of the in depth-ness with concern to the different cultures and historical correctness.

Spaceward Ho!

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/spacewardho/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

paceward Ho! is a strategic game of awesome scope. You control the entire military and economy of a spacefaring race. Your goal: explore and colonize the galaxy.

Unfortunately, you are not alone. Alien enemies bent on galactic conquest will oppose your expansion. You fight them by developing new technologies and expanding your empire, or you can ally with them to turn enemies into friends.

Terraform newly discovered worlds or mine their natural resources. Maneuver your starship fleets, both in defense of your own systems and in offensive strikes against the evil aliens. Your strategic decisions will determine the fate of the galaxy.

It's incredibly fun to play alone against the excellent computer players, and even better with other humans on the internet.

Spaceward Ho! has won numerous awards over the years, including being inducted into the MacWorld Game Hall of Fame and winning Best Network Game of the year.

The new version 5 is better than ever, with free internet play on spacewardho.net, combined fleets, new battle options, an all-new user interface, and much more.

Hot Space Injection

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/projecthsi/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

This is a multiplayer Flash based 4X game which pretty much adheres to the style of Master of Orion 1 and 2.
