Since WarCraft 3 I have had a strange fascination with tower defense games. I really like slow strategic games with virtually infinite possibilities. To a passive onlooker tower defenses may not seem very in depth. It appears that you simply are placing towers next to paths to kill creatures before they can get to the center. In truth these games can be quite complex. You need to decide what towers to build, where, when and at what stage they should be upgraded. (and to which degree)

Building the right tower a square in the wrong direction or a round to late can mean the difference between a stonewall and a leaky defense. If you are playing a team tower defense you will certainly be called a noob if you leak before the later rounds.

This tower defense lacks tower diversity in that all towers only have a range and damage rating. It is much more exciting when you have towers that have special effects even if its as simple as a set of land and air towers. The one thing this TD does have that seems to be unique is a never ending cycle. Basically each round monsters get progressively stronger until they breach walls. This is great but it would be much better with a leader board.

Winterbells

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/winterbells/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

You control a rabbit with the mouse, and you have to guide him to the bells.

1)Intro, What is a TD ?

Well, some weeks ago I said I would update this section. I finally did.

- For those who already know what a 'Tower Defense' is, I will just say, this one use the main features of them, but I'll also add my own.
- For those who don't, Tower Defense consist of a map, on which monsters spawn from a defined spot, and walk on a path. You got to build towers along this path to kill those monsters. You can upgrade those towers, and research some advanced one.
Tower defense was made popular by the warcraft 3 modification and 'Master of Defense'.

2)Features

The game is still under development, but some features are already done (or at least 'playable').
-You'll be able to choose several game mode, classical TD, contineous spawn, labyrinth, checkpoint and so on, i'll explain all of those once the game is released.
-You start with the ability to build 4 basic towers: ground, air, ice, and a ground splash, from there you'll earn new towers as the level in research increase.
-You can use 'knowledge' points, tu upgrade tower element (like fire, air, ice, etc...-, to sell tower for a more good price and earn more money on each kill. Those knowledge pool are also needed to the advanced and elite towers.
-An editor, people who like the game will be able to make theyr own map, and it will become available for the community.
-A random map generator: You can choose to play pre-made maps or to generate random maps, you won't play the same map twice if you don't want to!
-Once the game is released, multiplayer support will be added, a tournament/ladder aswell.
-All of those features will be available when the game is release, but once it is, i'll work on a multiplayer gamemode.

Sudoku eXpress

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/sudokuexpress/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Sudoku is a logic-based number placement puzzle. The objective is to fill a 9x9 grid so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3x3 boxes contains the digits from 1 to 9. The puzzle setter provides a partially completed grid.

Completed Sudoku puzzles are a type of Latin square, with an additional constraint on the contents of individual regions. Leonhard Euler is sometimes cited as the source of the puzzle, based on his work with Latin squares.

The modern puzzle was invented by an American, Howard Garns, in 1979 and published by Dell Magazines under the name "Number Place". It became popular in Japan in 1986, when it was published by Nikoli and given the name Sudoku. It became an international hit in 2005.
