The gameplay in Lumines II is very similar to its predecessor, Lumines. The object is still to move blocks of four different colored squares across the board; while trying to create a single square of the same colour. This all must be done before a "timeline" crosses the screen deleting the squares that you make. Deleting four or more squares will add a bonus multiplier to your score. (Refer to the Gameplay section of Lumines for more details).
Well, can you name another shooter-ignore REZ for the moment-featuring a psychedelic techno score that would make Yanni blush? Figured as much. When was the last time you played a shooter where the primary objective is to self destruct and thereby eliminate enemy ships in order to chain combos?
Nothing comes to mind? Can you name another shooter in which you can do all this whilst a kindly Japanese man whispers "extend" in your ear as you collect power-ups? Nuff said.
Unfortunately, the King's over-exuberance creates a tsunami that strikes and devastates nearby Paradise Commonwealth Island. One of the residents, a turtle, washes ashore next to the Royal Family and tells them his tale. The King then decides to make new islands for the animals of the Commonwealth with several katamari. Similar to the previous Katamari titles, the King sends the Prince to the Sunflower Continent, which is full of the paraphernalia used to create new landmasses.

Gameplay is much like that of the previous Katamari titles. Controls differ from those of the PS2 games given that the PSP lacks the DualShock 2 dual analog sticks. The player uses the D-pad and the four face buttons to imitate the analog controls. Often forgotten, as the creators added this only for the American release, is the ability to use the thumb-nub instead of the D-pad (the previous Japanese version only uses the thumb-nub to move the camera). The L and R buttons are used for tight turns.

Each player has his or her own island, which they name. A maximum of three of the player's friends can visit the island, via ad hoc network. The visitor can challenge the player in a contest of rolling the most valuables, like the Saving Red Panda stage in We ♥ Katamari.

Vector Infector PSP

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/vipsp/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

A PSP remake of Oddbob's fantastically psychedelic arena shooter.

Ozone

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/ozone/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Exit

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/Exit/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

A great puzzle game and one of the few great games for the PSP. It is considered to be Street Fighter's "cousin", and the two series are set in the same universe (characters like Guy, Hugo Andore, Rolento, Cody Travers and Poison have all appeared in later Street Fighter installments). Final Fight was originally released as an arcade game and was ported to several platforms, including the Super NES, Sega Mega-CD, Sharp X68000 and Game Boy Advance. It features former wrestler (as seen in Saturday Night Slam Masters), and mayor of Metro City (Capcom's fictitious city, modeled after New York City), Mike Haggar.

The story of Final Fight involves the abduction of Haggar's daughter, Jessica, because he would not work with Mad Gear to ensure their dominance of the streets. When the Mad Gear thug Damnd contacts Haggar and informs him, Haggar calls up his daughter's boyfriend Cody and his sparring partner Guy, and the three vigilantes head into the streets to bust Mad Gear's skulls, fighting their way through the hordes of goons littering the city (including the Rastafarian thug Damnd, the "Japanophile" Sodom, former Red Beret and militia leader Rolento, corrupt cop Edi. E, and the ill-tempered Abigail), to get to Mad Gear's boss, Belger.

Final Fight, whilst following in the footsteps of Double Dragon, was an innovative and balanced game. Unlike several beat 'em ups before it, Final Fight featured very large and detailed sprites for its day, and the controls were quite fluid and simple. Beginners could take to the game quickly, yet the game was balanced and difficult enough to ensure even experts could always expect a challenge for every new play. The game also began the strength-based, speed-based, and average character variety that countless other beat 'em up and other genres derived, as one controls Haggar (very powerful yet very slow and vulnerable to attack), Guy (very agile and can use hit-and-run, yet has weak offensive power), or Cody (who balances strength and speed, being an excellent choice for beginners). It also featured very long levels and various powerful enemies that could easily crowd the screen and had several fighting tactics against the player. It was not uncommon to hear people talk of how crowds would gather to watch whoever was playing the machine at the time.

Taiko Drum Master

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/taiko/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Guitar Hero may be all the rage for the American fan, but in Japan, Taiko drums is what it's all about. The game was released in 1995 and was noted for its original premise and amazing graphics and sound which pushed Sega's 16-bit machine to its limits.

The game is essentially a one-player side-scrolling beat 'em up with a twist. The unique aspect of the game is quickly revealed to be its presentation. The player is in control of Sketch Turner, a comic book artist who is trapped within his own comic creation. The levels are literally panels of Sketch's comic. Each level consists of two pages some with alternate routes, each with different art and puzzles. Powerups and secrets are revealed by literally ripping paper and Sketch can even find help in the form of his pet rat Roadkill, who is trapped with Sketch and can be used in a fight or to help with solving a puzzle.

There are three episodes containing two levels, each with unique backgroud art consistent with real-life comic books. Dialouge is even displayed within speech bubbles that help forward the story without breaking the comic book mould.

Ghost Rider

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/ghostrider/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

You play as Johnny Blaze aka Ghost Rider.

Gamoliyas

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/gamoliyas/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

TOCA Race Driver 3 Challenge

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/tocard3c/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

TOCA Race Driver 3 Challenge roars in with a cavalcade of officially licensed racecars, world-famous tracks and a new, progressive central game mode – the World Challenge. The objective of the game is avoid that the snails climb to the roof and explode themselfs making the roof go down.
