He is now able to launch himself off walls at 45 degree angles at strategically placed vertical shutters, slide down chutes, and balance on swinging poles, among other things.

While in the Sands of Time and Warrior Within the player fights with a sword, in the Two Thrones the player fights with the dagger of time. The designers have also added a stealth system to the gameplay. In the past two games the player had to rely solely on open-surrounding, multi-enemy combat. The Two Thrones expands upon this by adding a speed-kill system, which allows the Prince to quickly and quietly kill any enemy not aware of his presence. The player cannot perform a speed kill on one guard if another guard can see it. If the player does not complete the speed kill, the enemy knocks them off and the speed kill fails. The amount of moves or the length of time required greatly depends on how strong the opponents are, with boss battles taking the most.

The Prince also develops a split personality, and this alter-ego constantly bickers with him about right and wrong. At times, the Prince physically transforms into the Dark Prince. These transformations are scripted and not controlled by the player. During these times, however, the player still has control over the character, and for the most part, the Prince's dark side is simply an inner voice.

When controlling the Dark Prince, the player loses the ability to wield a secondary weapon, instead using the "Daggertail," a bladed whip fused to his arm. This opens medium range combat moves (like pulling an enemy closer, then slashing them) and new interactions with the environment (such as swinging off poles to reach a ledge). The Dark Prince also constantly loses health as a result of the semi-transformation, much like the Sand Wraith from Warrior Within. He goes back to full health whenever he collects sand, from either a monster or object. Also, his Daggertail gives him a different button combination for speed kills, in which he strangles his victims. The Prince returns to normal after the player comes in contact with water.

The game itself is relatively short, with players able to complete a single story mode in about ten hours.

FlatOut 2

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/FlatOut2/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Experience the drive of your life as you throw yourself around on and off the track causing fences to shatter, tyre walls explode, water tanks and barrels fly across the track into other cars. The game is powered by the Unreal-based Deus Ex: Invisible War engine and unlike the original two titles, Deadly Shadows was developed simultaneously for Microsoft Windows and the Xbox.

You play Garrett: The Protagonist, Hero (or Anti-Hero, as many would argue), Master Thief, and Expert Assassin. Garrett is a solitary thief, who is willing to steal anything, and, if necessary, kill to get what he wants. Garrett is a simple man, with a rather large title, but who says it's easy being the greatest thief that ever lived? Pick locks, pickpocket people, mug people, scale buildings with ease (Requires Climbing Gloves; found in the shop in the Docks). Garrett's stealth knows few bounds, and he has became a legend amongst his own kind.

One of the game's major new features was the ability to explore the City. While previous games sent Garrett straight from mission to mission, Thief: Deadly Shadows allows him to walk the City streets between missions where he can steal from passersby, spy on the townspeople, and complete the occasional sidequest in addition to major story missions. Unlike games such as Grand Theft Auto III, the city is not one large continuous map, but rather several small neighbourhood maps connected by load zones.

fahrenheit

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/fahrenheit/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Indigo Prophecy is a paranormal thriller that lets you become multiple characters and view the experience from multiple viewpoints. This installment features all of the action and features made popular by previous installments, and also introduces an "Edit Mode" which allows players to create new officers and bodyguard units. The Musuo Mode (story mode) has changed somewhat from the last game, offering a storyline for each faction (Wei, Wu, Shu and five unlockables) instead of each character. The game also adds three new characters but removes two from the previous version (though their weapons are selectable in Edit Mode).

Dynasty Warriors 4 was originally released as a PlayStation 2 game, and was later ported to PC (as Dynasty Warriors 4 Hyper) and Xbox. An expansion to the game, "Xtreme Legends" was also released on the PS2, though the PC and Xbox versions incorporate some of the improvements featured in that game. It does not contain information on Phantasy Star Online Episode III C.A.R.D. Revolution.

Phantasy Star Online is an online, multiplayer RPG where players group into four-man teams to explore instanced areas of the mysterious planet Ragol. Players began by creating a unique character, first selecting one of three classes (Hunter, Range or Force) and then one of the four race/gender combinations available in that class. Races included Humans, Newmans - pointy-eared humans with an affinity for "techniques" - and Casts, which are essentially robots. Unlike modern MMORPGs, PSO featured a more action oriented combat system that varied depending on your class. Hunters specialized in melee weapons, Rangers in fire-arms and Forces in techniques, which were essentially spells. Another unique feature is the inclusion of an offline mode that allows players to explore the game's online areas and take on quests.

Originally released for DreamCast with a bugfix re-release subtitled Ver. 2, which was also released on Windows exclusively in the Asian market. Not long after, PSO was ported to the GameCube and Xbox with the inclusion of nearly an entire game's-worth of new content and was aptly titled Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II. Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution was later released for the GameCube, but with the action RPG gameplay traded in for card battling. In a return to the series' roots, and its original engine, Sonic Team ported the GameCube/Xbox Episode I & II on to the Windows platform with additional content dubbed Episode IV. This final version of the game was titled Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst and could be downloaded for free from the official website.

Hitman: Contracts

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/hitmancontracts/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Contracts was the third game in the series. This game is comprised of GTA-like free exploration gameplay; however, the twist is the inclusion of slow motion jump/kill combos (a la Max Payne). It provides for an experience that is both old and new; a stylish melange of innovation and retrospective.

Tron 2.0

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/Tron2/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Twenty years have passed since Kevin Flynn defeated the MCP with the help of his Tron program. In doing so, he also destroyed the technology he'd used to digitize himself. He's long since left ENCOM in the hands of Alan Bradley, who is raising a family of his own.

Now ruthless global corporate powers want to send humans into the digital realm once more in order to control world finances, and only Alan knows the answer to perfecting their faulty code. Alan encrypted his secrets in time to prevent their theft, but now he's been kidnapped, and the search for the code is on.

You enter the fray as Jet Bradley, Alan's brilliant but rebellious son, who finds himself enlisted by Ma3a to fight the now viral corporate security officer within the digital realm and prevent global domination.
An entirely new game engine will deliver updated gameplay, stunning new features, spectacular 3D graphics and enhanced surround sound, so players can fully experience the intrigue, adventure and danger of life as a pirate on the Spanish Main.
Test your skills as a sea captain exploring the high seas and exotic ports in a richly detailed 3D world. Overtake the enemy and seize valuable booty. Exchange plank-shattering broadsides in fierce naval battles, and engage in duels with worthy opposing captains.

As your reputation and skills grow, so will the size and quality of your crew, and your ability to take on larger enemy ships, raid and plunder heavily fortified ports, and locate ancient treasure. There's a whole cast of interesting and dangerous characters to meet, mysteries to solve, exotic island destinations to discover, and powerful alliances to forge!

The new Pirates! carries on with the great gameplay and design simplicity tradition of the award-winning original while adding more challenging and exciting battle options, and a deeper and more varied role-playing experience, including multiple paths to a wealthy, happy retirement. This and many other features and additions make this gaming classic one of the most highly anticipated releases of this century!
