Maybe there aren't any nutts left so you can gather them for winter, but your neighbour sure has lots of them. You never really liked him, did you? Take his nutts and add them to your stash!

Nuttz is a game for two players, based on Capture The Flag. Each player controls one of insanely-quick squirrels and tries to run over to his opponents base (middle hollows), steal the nut, and stash it in his own base. You can only carry one nut at a time. If you stomp the enemy mario-like, he will be immobilized for 1 second, and will lose the nut he was carrying. From time to time, like in every normal forest, on middle-top platform spawns magical FreezeGem, which will immobilize your opponent for 5 seconds, he will not lose the nut however. You can use bottom and top hollows for quick transfers between levels. First player to get 10 nuts wins. You see amount of nuts in player1 and player2 bases in top left and top right corners respectively.

Blah Blah. Game is still in development (one reason why it's insanely fast is no framerate independency ;)). Want to add 1 or 2 more features, and then eventually totally rewrite code cause it's fugly. Nevertheless, it plays nice on my comp, and that's all that matters, right?

Contra: Shattered Soldier

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/contra-shattered-soldier/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

After the horrible 3D Contra games, Konami finally decided to go back to 2D.

Konami not only created Contra: Shattered Soldier as a 2D game, but at the same time, they've also created one of the hardest 2D action game in the genre.

You begin the game with all three weapons: The machine gun, a flamethrower and an explosive weapon. Each weapon has its own unique characteristics.

However, what really sets this game apart from all other action games is the ranking system. Each stage has only a set amount of enemies which appears in sequence. Basically, if you want to finish with the highest rank (Rank S) in a stage, you have to kill all the enemies and at the same time survive the stage without dying. You can do this by memorizing when each enemy will appear and its corresponding bullet path.

This game, is without a doubt, hardcore.

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start

Jake Hunter is a human from Earth, and Garathe Den is a minotaur creature from Kullrathe. You must survive through levels, avoiding security robots, traps, and your opponent. As you go through levels, you will eventually gather the pieces to your vehicle which will allow you to escape.

Hunter Hunted is different from a normal side scroller in that horizontal is not the only direction that you are able to move. There are hallways and doorways you can enter which allow you to move into or out of the screen. There is also a split screen multiplayer deathmatch mode that lets you play against your friend.

VeggieTales: LarryBoy and the Bad Apple

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/larryboyandthebadapple/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Help LarryBoy, the plunger-headed crime-fighting cucumber, free his friends from temptation by navigating through puzzle platform levels and defeating bosses with old-school video game challenges.

Monkey Story

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/monkeystory/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

The Fluffum War: Base Defense

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/TheFluffumWarBD/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Cell Burst

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/cellburst/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss
