The protagonist of the game is Lester Knight Chaykin; a young, athletic, red haired physicist. Lester arrives at his high-tech underground laboratory during a thunderstorm, and continues to work on his experiment using a particle accelerator. Right before the particles reach their intended destination, lightning strikes the lab and interferes with the accelerator causing the unforeseen teleportation of Lester to a barren alien planet.<br />
<br />
The player can control Lester using the keyboard or gamepad using four directions buttons and two action buttons: one for main actions, and one for jumping. Depending on the player's current position, movement, and status, the main action key performs a variety of actions including attacking and interacting with Lester's environment. At the start of the game Lester can only kick to attack, but later he can acquire a gun. While the movement keys normally make Lester run, the game also features sections where the player must swim, roll, or drive a vehicle. Contained on the DVD are episodes 1 to 6 of Space Quest, all of which follow our intrepid janitor hero as he gets into one (PUN)messy situation(/PUN) after another.  <br />

The games are all designed with the standard Sierra adventure game engine(s): AGI (SQ2), SCI (SQ1 VGA, SQ3, SQ4, SQ5).  Space Quest 1, 4, 5 and 6 all use the later icon driven interface whilst 2 and 3 use the classic text parser to direct our gallant mop jockey.<br />

The brilliant use of nerd (i.e. sci-fi, computer, etc...)humour blends perfectly with the game play/puzzles.  The outlandish situations, and locales will remind you of less formal science fiction movies/tv shows as will the many pot shots at the established sci-fi franchises such as Star Wars, Star Trek and Aliens.<br />

Toy Robo is an Action-Adventure Shooter that requires quick hands and engaging strategy.  You play as Toy Robo, a robot action figure on the side of good.  Your goal is to rid the world of evil toys which appear only at night.  You will do this in Arena style combat using your Blaster and Energy sword.  To help you along your way, you can equip several types of batteries, each with different combat effects and <br />
bonuses.<br />

This game was developed as an entry to the gamedev.net 4e4 contest which required that it encorporate at least 2 of the following four elements (elements of which ALL games are apparently made of): pirates, ninjas, robots and zombies.<br />
<br />
I opted for robots and zombies because robots are easy to model and zombies are easy to animate ^_^<br />
<br />
The contest had a 6 month time limit, so I wanted to make sure I didn't bite off more then I could chew.  In the end I came in 2nd out of at least 20 - the 1st place finisher was developed by 5 people!  so even though I didn't win I felt like the game did very well and the process was rewarding.<br />

the game's graphics and engine are (believe it or not) completely original. the game's engine is written in clickteam's multimedia fusion 2, while the graphics are done in humanbalance's graphicsgale.<br />
<br />
the music is written by both me (arthur lee), and my close friend, j. michael brown. done in fruityloops using the 3xosc plugin as well as tweakbench's toad and peach vsts, the game's soundtrack has a real retro feel to it. <br />
the game's plot revolves around a character named 'ip' who must escape from the underside, and maybe prevent the world from being destroyed while he's at it. the game's world, characters, plot strands, and dialogue are heavily inspired by earthbound, and are quirky, whimsical, and sometimes a little strange.<br />
<br />

The Enough family has arranged a birthday party for little Emily in the Enough estate. Emily is a very demanding girl. When her parents fail to please her insane demands, Emily flips out, grabs a knife and stabs her whole family and their servants! Emily Enough became an instant phenomenon for the media and the journalists called her the kiddie killer. When asked why did she do it, Emily replied: 'I wanted to see what was inside mommy'. The court sentenced Emily to the Claxochem Center for mental wellness institute. This institute however is falling apart. The company that owns it had to go under several budget cuts, resulting in the layoffs of all the institute's personnel. To make things even worse Claxochem moved their offices in the institute!<br />
<br />
Emily of course would rather be free so as the game starts you take control of her and your goal is to set her free. There are quite a few characters in the game, many of them are mentally disturbed individuals. All of them are quite interesting to talk to - well...at least those that do talk. Because there are a couple of them that don't. But even they have something special about them. The game's length is short, but not too short. It took me about 4 hours to finish the game, which is quite enough for a freeware adventure game. The end was satisfying and quite funny too. It is quite remarkable how Logan kept a balance between the dark matter of the game and the humor in it. All in all the story is very satisfactory and definitely a couple of notches better than your ordinary freeware adventure game.<br />
<br />
<strong>Graphics:</strong> The graphics of the game although not state-of-the-art (not even for freeware adventure game standards) they do fit the story like a glove! Pale characters and moody-coloured backgrounds provide the player with a mixture that radiates melancholy and insanity at the same time. One thing that could have been improved would be the characters' animation. Most of them were quite stale throughout the game. Some variation on their movements would be a welcome addition to the game.<br />
<br />
<strong>Gameplay:</strong> The interface is similar to the ones used in the Sierra point and click adventures. With the right mouse button you scroll around the possible actions you can perform, which are WALK, LOOK, USE, TALK and Inventory item. The dialogues interface is more similar to the Lucasarts one, where you have a number of choices on the bottom part of the screen that you can choose from. The challenges are quite logical most of the time, although there will be a couple of times where you won't be sure what you have to do next. However, the game world is not that huge so if you explore your surroundings you will be very likely to finish the game without referring to a walkthrough.<br />

It always seemed like they had miles and miles of forest and adventure waiting for them.<br />
If this game ever gets finished (and I'm going into this with no experience at all, only ambition), it will be an adventure platformer similar to Seiklus and Knytt - though slightly more linear.<br />
