During the game more and more elements with increasingly complicated shapes have to be stacked on top of each other. In doing so, the time available to place an element decreases with every level. The faster an element is placed, the more points the player gets. If an element falls upon the floor, the level is lost and the player has to begin again.

When the rule "no equal colors" is switched on the level is also lost if two elements of the same color touch each other. Instead of blocks coming from the top, and fall down, blocks come from both top and bottom, and gravitate towards the middle.

The aim of the game is to get the highest score possible. Points are scored by moving the falling blocks on both sides of the play area so as to arrange 3 or more blocks of the same colour together. These blocks will then disappear causing any blocks "above" them to fall and possibly create further combinations. The game ends when either stack of blocks crosses the game over line. Over time the speed of the blocks increases, more colours are introduced and the play area becomes narrower.

There are two different game modes: Classic where there are just blocks falling, and Arcade where you get powerups and special blocks.

Rebound

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/rebound/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Rebound is a puzzle game in the same vein as Arkanoid, but with a twist. (Aren't they all?) Actually it's basically a remake of Diamonds, a game I used to play for hours on the Mac. In Rebound, you must change colors to destroy the various colored blocks. Once all colored blocks are destroyed, you can then clear the diamond blocks. Skulls will kill you, but you can grab an overshield to help you along your way. Beware of reversers that switch your controls around, and grab keys to open locks to get into secured areas.
He does not know where he is. He does not know how he came to be there. He does not even know his own name. All he knows is that he is being tortured by a bizarre, bespectacled man, who addresses him only as a number - Twelve-Thirteen.

Every day, Twelve-Thirteen is taken out of his cell and goaded into running a dangerous hazard course, apparently for the sole amusement of the bespectacled man. Today seems to be no different. But while Twelve-Thirteen sits brooding in his darkened prison, the door suddenly falls open with no apparent cause. To discover the answers to all of his questions, Twelve-Thirteen must adventure into the unknown world beyond the cell...
It plays as an adventure game with a light mix of action thrown in. The health system is an interesting take on a typically HP-saturated market: as you take damage, the beating heart in the corner pumps faster, threatening death, and adding to the atmosphere.
Storyline
In the year 64AD (after the Great Fire of Rome) Nero built the Domus Aurea (or "Golden House"). This is the story that is known. The story that is not common is the secret that the Domus Aurea hides and of your adventures within.

It is now 5 September 476 AD and yesterday Romulus Augustus was deposed (history will show that he will not be replaced). During Rome's fall stories of a powerful secret hidden within the catacombs of the Domus Aurea have surfaced, and being the curious type that you are, you have set out to find the truth or fiction of them.
