Toy Robo is an Action-Adventure Shooter that requires quick hands and engaging strategy. You play as Toy Robo, a robot action figure on the side of good. Your goal is to rid the world of evil toys which appear only at night. You will do this in Arena style combat using your Blaster and Energy sword. To help you along your way, you can equip several types of batteries, each with different combat effects and
bonuses.

This game was developed as an entry to the gamedev.net 4e4 contest which required that it encorporate at least 2 of the following four elements (elements of which ALL games are apparently made of): pirates, ninjas, robots and zombies.

I opted for robots and zombies because robots are easy to model and zombies are easy to animate ^_^

The contest had a 6 month time limit, so I wanted to make sure I didn't bite off more then I could chew. In the end I came in 2nd out of at least 20 - the 1st place finisher was developed by 5 people! so even though I didn't win I felt like the game did very well and the process was rewarding.

Shellcore is a simple tank game made in Torque Game Builder. You control the tank with "w", "a", "s" and "d" and fire shells with the left mouse button. The right mouse button fires the machine gun which is good for destroying RPGs before they hit your tank.

The point of the game is to get the highscore. Challenge your friends and enemies to beat your score. If they are unable, point and laugh at them.

I made Shellcore in order to get acquainted with the new Torque Game Builder. It is currently in beta stages.

Just have a little fun with the game . . . I also appreciate suggestions.
Basically its a single level game built around JumpStart. The Map to play on is randomly selected from a set list (currently 4 maps) and play exists of you trying to destroy all of the enemies on the screen. Some maps are generated procedurely and some are hard coded.

In the relased version sound is supported (turned off by default, turn it on in the options screen). I'll warn you now that the sound can get a bit annoing. Luckily you can press escape, go to options, turn it off, back, and resume game.

Graphics are completely from SpriteLib GPL. If anyone wants to take the time to create real graphics for the game I'd be happy to add them in and add on a credits screen.

Gradipus (working title)

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/Gradipusthegame/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

This is one of the games I am working on with Chaosepoch (Whose Profile can be found here: http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/user/snowfox), this one being a less serious one that we probably won't put into commercial use.

I am always brimming with ideas for games, but lack the ability to programme them, so on one of my many brain farts I created some levels, a scenario and characters, all for this side scrolling shooter game.
Chaosepoch actually took a liking to the idea (he likes coding games) and agreed to code the game for me.

So far all we have is one example level (i.e. a level that won't be used in the game once it's coded properly) and the basic game play structure (i.e. side scrolling, and shooting).

There are only two of the 29 enemies present in this demo clip and none of the power-ups, special moves, or anything like that.
This is merely just a little taster of what I am working on, and nothing here is set in stone.
The only thing that is definite is that the main character is a flying platypus that shoots eggs from it's bill.
Yep.

You play as a Platypus who has been sucked into a bizarre under water world of monsters, clowns and toilets who all want to kill you.
There are plenty of weird bosses too, such classics as one boss being a giant robot giraffe who hurls newts at you, and another being a giant floating mans head which resembles a tea pot his skull opens up to reveal a soggy tea bag which you have to hit to do him damage.

A lot of work needs to be done, this is FAR from finished...
Instead of shooting, you only have a piece of chalk with which you can draw. The way you defeat the enemies is different depending on the type. Some require all of the green dots to be connected, and others need to have their bullets connected back to them. There are bosses at the end of each level that will take a bit more thinking to destroy. The game is controlled entirely with the mouse, but the keyboard can be used as well.

Galaxy Fighter

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/galaxyfighter/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Galaxy Fighter was made during the third year of my IT degree as part of a project subject. Jeff just finished it off a few days ago. The game is more like traditional Asteroids, but with progressive weapons.
