Fan reaction was mixed, but most people seemed to enjoy it once they got the hang of the slightly less precise gridless system. Relying on the grid based system employed by games such as Final Fantasy Tactics and many Altus titles, Disgaea blended strategy with humor to create a game that literally ate hundreds of hours for many gamers. While returning to the more traditional leveling system, the addition of vehicles was the new twist for this title.
