Though, at first glance, the game appears to be a madcap arcade-style "Free-for-all" that combines armed combat and off-road racing with the risk of high-stakes Poker, a single play reveals an intensely addictive, mentally stimulating thrill ride full of limitless strategy, nuance, and depth. Every round is a nail-biting cliffhanger that "ain't over till it's over" ...and yet the average game time is under three minutes long!

Players can use high-powered vehicles to rush out and grab any card they see, use machine guns, dynamite & heat-seeking-missiles to steal opponent's cards, put a "Bounty" on the head of troublesome adversaries, ...in short, use trickery, intimidation, bravado, deceit, speed, stealth and brute force to bankrupt their opponents and win the $100,000 EvilBrau Tournament!

In addition to over a 125 detailed levels, dozens of unique characters, and a hilarious backstory ripped from the pages of the dread Velcronomicon, Arctic Stud has a gameplay mechanic thats so unique, it's patented!
BREAKING NEWS:
Arctic Stud version 2.0 Available Now!

Stratagus

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/stratagus/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Stratagus was previously an open source project known as 'Freecraft', and its original purpose was to re-create the Warcraft 2 engine to the point of 100% playability. It succeeded in that goal and decided to move on towards other more challenging goals. Stratagus is now a general use open source engine that a large number of games have based themselves upon, such as Wargus, Battle of Survival, InsectWar, and more.

Dark Oberon

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/darkoberon/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Dark Oberon is an open source real-time strategy game similar to Warcraft II released under GPL. It's extremely accessible and yet there's plenty of depth just waiting to be uncovered. It's turn-based play makes it ideal for casual pickup and play and yet the turns are quick and fast paced so as to keep the action moving.

My Bogle will be launching along side our Friends Play Free invitation service. What that means is that when you buy My Bogle, you'll get to send invitations to your friends and family, who can then download and play the full version of My Bogle online against you anytime they want, without any restrictions. The only caveat is that if they want to play when you're not around, then they'll need to buy the game too. Think of it a bit like Frisbee for Video Games. As long as you own a Frisbee, you can play it with anybody you want, right? You don't think "hey, I wonder if the person I'm throwing this to has a license to catch it." And that way your friends can be exposed to the great game of Frisbee for free (all thanks to you), but they can only play Frisbee when you're around unless they go out and buy one for themselves. Video Games should be more like Frisbee, and that's what Friends Play Free is all about.

The Continuum

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/thecontinuum/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

The Continuum combines classic turn-based wargaming, collectibility and RPG character development into one multi-player adventure that will change the way you game. Characters, abilities and equipment combine with in-game artifacts, epic battlefields, and changing scenarios to provide an experience that is at once familiar and all-new.

Players will have a huge impact on the ultimate design, features, and direction that the game takes as the beta rolls out. Pre-registration for the beta is open at the official website for The Continuum.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/SupremeCommanderForgedAlliance/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

The story of Forged Alliance begins in the origins of the Aeon, one of the original Supreme Commander factions. The Aeon have their origins in humanity's sole contact with an alien race called the Seraphim. When the contact went bad, the resulting conflict ended up with an entire planet full of dead extraterrestrials. The Aeon was formed to adopt the aliens' culture into human society in recompense for humanity's crime. Now, however, it turns out that said planet wasn't the Seraphim's home; it was just a small colony of a much larger empire. Now the Seraphim have opened a gate into human-controlled space and discovered what happened to their long-lost brothers. Needless to say, they're pissed and they've decided where humanity failed at universal genocide, the Seraphim will succeed.

The story of humanity's battle with the Seraphim will play out in a brand-new single-player campaign that details the triple alliance of Aeon, Cybran and UEF battling against the first truly alien presence in the game. While the Seraphim won't be playable in single-player, they'll certainly throw a few monkey wrenches into tried-and-true strategies with over 100 new units including a really cool experimental bomber that darkens a big chunk of the sky before it brightens up the area with negative energy bombs that are basically mini-nukes.

Not to be left out, there are some fun new toys for each of the game's original three factions. The UEF is getting a 3-point defensive emplacement that will help defend against ground assault. The Cybrans should enjoy a shout out to Total Annihilation, the Brick, a mobile missile launcher that shoots torpedoes in the water and lasers on land. The real fun for the Cybrans comes in the form of their new experimental megalith. This crab-like monstrosity is amphibious and can blow away entire navies. On land it moves slower but acts as a mobile production platform that can drop armies on the run. The resource requirements for these giant units have also been reduced so players should finally start seeing them in multiplayer matches.

Some of the most important additions to the game, however, won't be immediately obvious from the screen. The game's new AI is apparently way, way smarter than the one that shipped with the original version. According to Gas Powered Games personnel, in internal testing it's been able to beat the old AI in about 10 minutes with much less of a performance hit. The game will ship with unit shaders that make everything shinier and cut down the drag on performance. Aircraft get a new flight dynamic model, the sky dome's been revamped and the user interface has been re-done and can now be skinned and reorganized with faction-appropriate art.
Apparently, some monsters in the game, such as dragons, will be absolutely huge, and will take up to 12 squares on the game's combat map, which has been retouched as a grid-based map divided up into two halves--yours and your opponents"
