ThinkTanks is a tank combat game designed to be a blast for the new and experienced gamer alike with lighthearted, fast paced pandemonium. Either battling against brain-hungry bots in solo play or going head-to-head against others online, ThinkTanks has something for everyone.

Solo Play

You find yourself in a ThinkTank... just one of many brain slaves imprisoned by Alien Mind Control-- only you have managed to escape their brain rays. But the moment you are free, you are besieged on all sides by insane bot-tanks. You must destroy or be destroyed and keep on your toes at all times. Luckily you can collect powerups that give you wacky weapons to help you stay alive. As you progress through each level, the bot tanks get smarter, stronger and crazier as Alien Mind Control reprograms the bot tanks to match your wits. Your goal is to beat the bosses, then rescue your brain-brethren and continue the fight on other worlds.

Quickplay Battle Mode

This is no-holds-barred warfare and to the victor go the points. You can be catapulted or thrust in any direction by rolling over the boost and jump pads to escape attack or rush the enemy. The lush, green hills are scattered with bots on the warpath, bots choking in their own smoke, floating orbs with special powers and ammunition, boulders, trees, AND the dreaded pit of doom. The goal here is to keep your brain intact, and triumph over bots of every shape, size, speed and skill.

Scrum

You are cast into a veritable feeding frenzy of tanks. You need to simultaneously track the position of your tank relative to the scrum ball using your radarscope, while navigating your tank along the bumpy terrain. If you are quick enough to pick up the ball yourself, you must make a mad dash to the goal, evading the thirsty pack of mad bots heavy on your trail. You win by capturing the most scrum balls in the allotted time.
From Lith Harbor that welcomes you from a long journey from Maple Island, you'll run into such fascinating towns as Henesys - the village of bowmen with comfy mushroom-shaped houses gathered together; Ellinia - the village of magicians with mysterious spells embedded between tall trees; Perion - the village of warriors with the fighting spirit typical of the Indians living in highlands; and Kerning City - the village of thieves that reminds you of the back alleys of dark cities.
Players can select from four factions each of which has a unique look for it's units and a specifically voiced adviser (although all four have identical capabilities) and compete alone or in teams against other humans (locally or via the net) or the assorted Bots that are included. Competition takes place on a variety of terrain, sometimes barren and empty sometimes green and full of rivers.

Once a battle is started, players take turns using a limited supply of energy to launch weapons against their enemies or launch new buildings to expand their base. Both are done with a simple aim and force interface similar to Worms or most early golf games so it takes some skill to land a building exactly where you want it. Because buildings are connected to your main hub with a web of power lines, careful planning is required to avoid leaving important nodes unprotected. There are 18 different weapons and buildings each with an energy cost based on how powerful and useful it is. Ultimately, you must destroy an enemy's main hub unit to eliminate him from the battle.

Moonbase Commander has a minutes to learn, lifetime to master quality. There's never enough energy to do everything you want to and your opposition is always breathing down your neck. Should you risk a tricky shot to place an expensive shield generator by your hub or just settle for launching waves of cheap cluster bombs at those enemy anti-air batteries in hopes of overwhelming them. Maybe you should just bide your time and send up a few more observation balloons. The possibilities are surprisingly limitless in this simple yet complex game.
Description:
Worms: Armageddon is a turn based strategy game in a 2d environment. There is a single player campaign, and training missions to complete; but the main attraction is playing against other people locally or over the internet. Games can be played with 2 or more people. The graphics and sound are very cartoonish, and entertaining.

Gameplay:
Each player starts with a number of worms on their team. Each worm has a fixed amount of health. If a worm runs out of health, it will die. Once you run out of worms, you lose the match. The game is turn based, so each team gets control of one worm during their turn. You have a limited amount of time to select one of many weapons and inflict damage on another teams worm. There are also other more subtle tools to choose from for more strategic play, such as terrain digging tools, girder construction, and ropes and other means to get around the map. Weapons vary from the ordinary guns and explosives, to odd things like exploding sheep, mad cows, and homing pigeons.

There are several other popular gameplay types, with specific rules for play.
Maybe there aren't any nutts left so you can gather them for winter, but your neighbour sure has lots of them. You never really liked him, did you? Take his nutts and add them to your stash!

Nuttz is a game for two players, based on Capture The Flag. Each player controls one of insanely-quick squirrels and tries to run over to his opponents base (middle hollows), steal the nut, and stash it in his own base. You can only carry one nut at a time. If you stomp the enemy mario-like, he will be immobilized for 1 second, and will lose the nut he was carrying. From time to time, like in every normal forest, on middle-top platform spawns magical FreezeGem, which will immobilize your opponent for 5 seconds, he will not lose the nut however. You can use bottom and top hollows for quick transfers between levels. First player to get 10 nuts wins. You see amount of nuts in player1 and player2 bases in top left and top right corners respectively.

Blah Blah. Game is still in development (one reason why it's insanely fast is no framerate independency ;)). Want to add 1 or 2 more features, and then eventually totally rewrite code cause it's fugly. Nevertheless, it plays nice on my comp, and that's all that matters, right?

Albatross18

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/albatross18/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Massively Multiplayer Online Golf. This game continues with the success of the previous 3 installments of the series and adds its own unique styling. This version includes many improvements on the previous versions including: turn based combat allowing the Hero of the army to participate, the ability for creatures to be controlled without the need of a Hero, caravans allow the safe transportation of Heroes and creatures between castles and dwellings, and a rich upgrade to the graphics. New World Computing with 3DO managed to release 2 expansions, The Gathering Storm and Winds of War, before 3DO filled for bankruptcy. Luckily for fans of the series the franchise was bought up by Ubisoft, and Heroes of Might and Magic V (and its expansion Hammers of Fate) were release in 2006. If you haven't ever played a version of Heroes I would highly recommend trying one out.

Heroes of Might and Magic V

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/homm5/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Heroes of Might and Magic V (c 2006) was developed by Nival Studios and released by Ubisoft. This version includes many improvements on the previous versions including: most importantly the change from 2d graphics to complete 3d, a new active time battle style bar in the combat screen, progress campaigns requiring you to complete the previous ones to continue, and the new duel multiplayer mode. Nival Studios with Ubisoft have released 1 expansion so far (Hammers of Fate) with plans on expanding the Might and Magic Franchise through titles like Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (c 2006). This game takes its roots from EQ in most ways from creature design to player class and races. Though it tries to stay true to its roots this spin-off doesn't contain many of the elements of EQ due to its very nature of being a single player, or multiplayer through the online service, strategy game and not the MMO thats its predecessor is. Lords of Everquest has many elements that link it to the real time strategy genre including: active time battles with point and click action, spells and units that can be upgraded and improved upon, and the need to collect raw resources to maintain your army.

Galcon

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/galcon/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Galcon is an awesome high-paced multi-player galactic action-strategy game.
