Players can select from four factions each of which has a unique look for it's units and a specifically voiced adviser (although all four have identical capabilities) and compete alone or in teams against other humans (locally or via the net) or the assorted Bots that are included. Competition takes place on a variety of terrain, sometimes barren and empty sometimes green and full of rivers.<br />
<br />
Once a battle is started, players take turns using a limited supply of energy to launch weapons against their enemies or launch new buildings to expand their base. Both are done with a simple aim and force interface similar to Worms or most early golf games so it takes some skill to land a building exactly where you want it. Because buildings are connected to your main hub with a web of power lines, careful planning is required to avoid leaving important nodes unprotected. There are 18 different weapons and buildings each with an energy cost based on how powerful and useful it is. Ultimately, you must destroy an enemy's main hub unit to eliminate him from the battle.<br />
<br />
Moonbase Commander has a minutes to learn, lifetime to master quality. There's never enough energy to do everything you want to and your opposition is always breathing down your neck. Should you risk a tricky shot to place an expensive shield generator by your hub or just settle for launching waves of cheap cluster bombs at those enemy anti-air batteries in hopes of overwhelming them. Maybe you should just bide your time and send up a few more observation balloons. The possibilities are surprisingly limitless in this simple yet complex game.<br />

Konami not only created Contra: Shattered Soldier as a 2D game, but at the same time, they've also created one of the hardest 2D action game in the genre.<br />
<br />
You begin the game with all three weapons: The machine gun, a flamethrower and an explosive weapon. Each weapon has its own unique characteristics.<br />
<br />
However, what really sets this game apart from all other action games is the ranking system. Each stage has only a set amount of enemies which appears in sequence. Basically, if you want to finish with the highest rank (Rank S) in a stage, you have to kill all the enemies and at the same time survive the stage without dying. You can do this by memorizing when each enemy will appear and its corresponding bullet path.<br />
<br />
This game, is without a doubt, hardcore.<br />

The gfx are by me, the sounds are by me (including the grunts and oofs) and we got some very nice music made for us by the talented &quot;infamous&quot;. The tough part is all by Edgar though, without him these games wouldn't happen.<br />

Collect fruits, find keys, press switches and open doors to make your way through the kastle. Dodge the twizzly boxes of doom, jump the lava and watch out for the traps. The remake did ok in the competition but the game turned out as great as i hoped. Its a joy to play, in fact only yesterday i played it through once again.<br />
<br />
We are now working on a version which includes the room editor for a collaborative project. A whole new set of user made rooms with some new twists and traps. There are good Clancers and bad Clancers, but you can beat up both of them.  To fight you pick up your opponent and shake or throw them.  By shaking somone you can steal their gems.  While the game looks like nothing more then a young child's game, it is actually wicked difficult in later levels, a great game for all ages.<br />
<br />
Since it is a 2D game, you move with the D-pad instead of the analog stick.  You do actions and jumps with the C and A-B buttons.  Each level you must reach a warp star at the end to complete it, and once you complete about 10 levels you move on to the next section of the game.  This is not a short game.<br />
<br />

As in all shoot 'em up games of this genre, there is a vast number of enemies to kill, both on the ground and in the air. For each target destroyed the player earns credits, with the amount of credits earned per enemy destroyed is proportional to how tough the enemy ship is. Most of the ground objects (buildings, vehicles, turrets) can be destroyed as well. <strong>Battle system</strong><br />
The battle system is similar to the active time-based structure seen in the Final Fantasy series and in Chrono Trigger.  However, in PoPoLoCrois, battles can be set to an Auto mode in which the characters will follow a set of AI instructions, such as Assault (which attacks and uses special skills), Attack (which attacks but uses no special skills), and Defend (which has characters try to keep their HP as high as possible).  The battle system is fought in a way which could be seen as a scaled-down version of the battles in tactical RPG's such as Final Fantasy Tactics.
