RTB adds more bricks, accessories, game modes, admin/player options, and a lot more. RTB's mission is to keep Blockland fresh and captivating. RTB is just an extension of the fun premise of the "vanilla" Blockland. There also lots of plans for RTB when Blockland goes "retail". Until then, RTB will still be supported and developed for the public beta version 2, which has been enjoyed by the masses for nearly two years (and was featured on TechTV's "The Screen Savers").

RTB was first released in June, 2005. The current version is 1.045. The next version will be version 1.05. When the final version of Blockland is available for purchase we will move development to RTB version 2.0.

Escape Velocity

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/escapevelocity/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

The original game in the Escape Velocity series from Ambrosia Software. An open ended space trading, combat, adventure rpg. It's similar to Elite, but with all the fun distilled and purified into one big addictive lump of super fun.

The following is the blurb from the official Ambrosia website:

Check your calendar: It's 2246, and the galaxy just isn't what it used to be. Spacefaring pirates roam free, civil war rages, and simple traders cheat death to make a living. Welcome to life in the 23rd century!

Ambrosia Software's Escape Velocity puts you smack-dab in the middle of that booming galaxy. As the captain of a shiny new spacecraft, you make your fortune and build your empire. If that sounds like a walk in the park, you're in for a surprise - dangers abound! Your lowly shuttle craft will need more than a little luck to make a profit... and survive.

Escape Velocity offers a rich and open-ended environment that evolves as you play. Over a hundred worlds occupy the galaxy, each with its own technology, alliances, and commodities. As you earn credits and gain fame, Confederation peace keepers and Rebel patriots struggle for power, leaving you in the middle.

Numerous sub-plots fill Escape Velocity's world; your choices affect the story's development, guaranteeing that each game will be different from the last. You'll have the opportunity to infiltrate hostile military bases, ferry emergency supplies to distant star systems, rescue passengers from stranded cruise ships, stop alien invaders, and more. In addition, Escape Velocity sports an open game engine. Future scenario designers will be able to create their own worlds for other players to explore...

Deus Ex

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/deusex/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

The year is 2052 and the world is a dangerous and chaotic place. Terrorists operate openly - killing thousands; drugs, disease and pollution kill even more. The world's economies are close to collapse and the gap between the insanely wealthy and the desperately poor grows ever wider. Worst of all, an ages old conspiracy bent on world domination has decided that the time is right to emerge from the shadows and take control. No one believes they exist. This organization pushed scientific progress and planetary colonization forward until the human race covered almost the entire galaxy. Ironically, it was the Core's final triumph against mortality that would prove to be its undoing, for when the Core mandated uploading all peoples' brain patterns into machines in a method known as "patterning," there was a massive rebellion from the Arm (named after their location, an arm of the spiral galaxy), an organization which banded together from the edges of the galaxy and demanded to keep their physical bodies. A war like no other began, which has since raged on for four thousand years. Through pollution and war the world's main populace survives in fortified mega-metropolises referred to as citadels scattered throughout uninhabitable wastelands. In 2200 when the U.E.C was first formed the decision was taken to only take those who were most important to society into the protection of the citadels.

Although many live happy lives in the serenity of the citadels and with ignorance that over half the world's population lives in turmoil, outside life is a harsh experience, many have died in the inhospitable environment but for those that have survived so far evolution has "gifted" them with something special, unknown to the U.E.C those left outside were not the only life that survived. At different locations around the world life has re-emerged stronger than before with new species of plants and animals flourishing in independent eco-systems. These are a haven for those left outside and are their means of survival.

The past is not easily forgotten though and inevitably the two divisions of humans would obviously not co-exist peacefully. The war is just about to begin, the U.E.C is unaware of what is about to unfold but tension is rising after transports between citadels have gone missing. The outcasts plan for revenge is in motion...

The Sides:

U.E.C Military/Security forces:

The U.E.C seeks to finish off what they started and destroy what is left of any resistance to its rule. The U.E.C arsenal is composed of conventional ballistic weaponry with a few elite soldiers wielding the newly developed energy weapons.

The Outcasts:

The Outcasts seek revenge against their brethren; motivated by this they have spent many years planning for their revenge. They seek to change the earth to a world full of jungles and devoid of technology or cities with humanity living alongside nature. The Outcasts of course cannot wage a war with weapons made from wood and stone, instead they utilize the "gifts" given to them by evolution to destroy their foes, and so with a variety of hand to hand combat, enhanced reflexes and elemental forces to help them along they are a deadly adversary to any U.E.C force.

Star Wars Jedi Academy: ForceMod 3 Return of the Sith

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/fm3/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

ForceMod III is a free multiplayer modification for Star Wars: Jedi Academy.
It brings fast paced one-hit rail gun fights into the Source Engine; with a selection of two main weapons. The well known RailGun and the RailEnforcer.

The RailGun is a plasma based pistol with unlimited energy; but it has a delay between each shot.

The RailEnforcer is a plasma based shotgun that holds 3 shots per plasma shell that can all be fired simutaniously.

Both weapons kill instantly.

The whole engine has been tweaked to perfection for Instagib Gameplay; right down to the physics, blood effects and impentation of the Logitech G15 SDK.

Project Reality

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/projectreality/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

The Award-Winning Project Reality brings realism to the forefront in Battlefield 2, with new vehicles, new weapons, new armies, and entirely new gamemodes, and so much more.
