TC:E is a modern world total conversion modification of the free, popular, stand-alone first-person shooter Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. That is, TC:E is an entirely free game, made by gamers, for gamers.

TC:E is currently being developed by GrooveSix Studios and TeamTerminator. While TeamTerminator is known for the famous Q3 based TrueCombat series, GrooveSix Studios was initiated by retired TeamTerminator co-founder Coroner to develop a Return to Castle Wolfenstein modification that is not released. Thus, as very experienced Q3-based content creators, we hope to be able to serve the gaming community with a quality offering.
Now, the most important question: "What can you expect from TC:E?" TC:E is a tactical-team shooter, set up in a modern-world environment. TC:E puts you into the role of elite mercenary soldier in the conflicts of two internationally operating forces.
Unlike most fighting games that only allow 1 on 1 combat with a shared camera forcing you to attack your opponent on a single 2-dimensional plane, Brutal allows players to experience combat in full 3-dimensional glory. Fight on rooftops, inside buildings, on the streets or even on mountaintops, there's no limit to where you can roam! Within Eurale are seven kingdoms: Nisos, Aratoy, Oriam, Fornax, Elythria, Cathea, and Taberland. The seven kingdoms united into an uneasy alliance and built a citadel as a meeting place, which was named Avalon.

Within the land is a civilization of nomads known as the Sha'ahoul. Their religion values very highly the earth and nature and therefore they are against farming, the building of permanent structures, and similar practices which they feel destroys the earth. After discovering the existence of Eurale, they declared war on the seven kingdoms to eradicate their way of life.

Many refugees of the destruction caused by the Sha'ahoul took shelter in Avalon. The seven kingdoms sent military support to defend Avalon and the refugees. To the people of Eurale, Avalon is seen as the last hope at stopping the Sha'ahoul. The Sha'ahoul and their leader, Mithras, chose to overtake the citadel by setting up a siege around it.

The game begins with an entry in the hero's journal. The siege has been going on for several years. His brother, Corvus, serves as part of the military in Avalon. When their father dies, the hero feels that it is his obligation to inform Corvus of the sad news, so he becomes part of the crew of a ship sailing from Elythria to Avalon to deliver supplies. The Sha'ahoul manage to sink all of the ships except the one the hero is on. The ship reaches Avalon, but has lost most of its supplies. It is not possible to make a return voyage to Elythria and so the hero decides to stay at Avalon, inform Corvus of their father's death, and help out Avalon in whatever manner he can. The player gains control at this point and begins by speaking to Corvus and informing him about his father's death.

The Underside

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/theunderside/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

the underside is an exploration based action platformer in the vein (it's a pun~) of games like castlevania, metroid, and cave story. however, unlike most other games in this genre, the gameplay is driven more by plot than by free-roaming exploration (though the world is fully explorable).

the game's graphics and engine are (believe it or not) completely original. the game's engine is written in clickteam's multimedia fusion 2, while the graphics are done in humanbalance's graphicsgale.

the music is written by both me (arthur lee), and my close friend, j. michael brown. done in fruityloops using the 3xosc plugin as well as tweakbench's toad and peach vsts, the game's soundtrack has a real retro feel to it.
the game's plot revolves around a character named 'ip' who must escape from the underside, and maybe prevent the world from being destroyed while he's at it. the game's world, characters, plot strands, and dialogue are heavily inspired by earthbound, and are quirky, whimsical, and sometimes a little strange.
Axion is a 4 colour (greyscale) shoot'em up made for the Retro Remakes 4-colour TI calculator style competition.

Story

Thousands of years ago the Atlantians built a huge inter-dimensional portal with the intent of trapping a huge foe inside. The portal worked perfectly, but at the last minute the huge beast was able to pull their entire city in with it. Knowing the they were unable to save the city and that the beast would eventually be able to break free without anyone able to watch over it, they sent out their last hope, Axion.

Axion was a specially designed craft known as a "Dimension diver" which made it the only man-made creation that was able to seemlesly escape the pull of the triangular portal.

Thousands of years later after absorbing much of its surroundings including people, ships and planes, the beast was able to take control of its own prision, although it was still not quite powerful enough to escape entirely. Using all the energy it had absorbed over the many years, the beast took control of the portal and projected it into outer space using mankind's own orbiting satillites. The portal was now 50 times its original size, big enough to engulf the entire planet...and this was the plan. If the beast could absorb the entire planet, then it would have enough energy to break free from its Atlantian prision.

After detecting the huge power surge, Axion emerged out of the ocean and blasted off into outer space to stop the beast before it was too late.

flora

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/flora/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Control forces of nature, take care of your flowers and use your creativity in this garden simulator.
The mod includes nine of your favorite characters who are able to duke it out using numerous beam attacks as well as close hand to hand combat. ESF mixes both elements to bring players intense fast paced with a twist of strategy. Each character is geared towards a different style of play. Some are meant to mainly use energy attacks, while others have the advantage in melee fights.
No matter what style of fighting you like to use, esf has a way to accomadate you.
Should the foxes or sheep die out, you lose.

As the game progresses, the species breed to survive. As they breed, the foxes and sheep move towards the 'perfect' form of evolution - low food intake to survive, yet strong bodies.

Every day, you earn actions that can be used to place animals on the field, mutate a species that is growing too strong, or cause it to rain to help the grass grow.

How long can YOU maintain balance?

This game plays interesting as a sandbox. Since the game will play forever until you lose, the fun is in setting goals for yourself - for example, seeing how many sheep you can sustain at once (my limit was 1800), how quickly you can generate a lot of a single species, how long you can sustain 100 foxes, etc.

Another challenge I discovered that you cannot do without editing the ini file (until I add a main menu) is to set the number of sheep and foxes both to four, and try and grow a large enough herd of sheep to actually survive.

If you want the game to play faster, use F1-F5 to set the game speed. If you want to slow the game down to watch the soap-opera like plot (line drawing) evolve, hit F6.

This game is considered to be feature complete. The only other progress to be made to it will be bug fixes and perhaps a main menu. (as such, please report any bugs found)

All graphics are original and created by me (although a friend helped me with the fox, if it weren't for him it would look like a red huskey). The music is by another friend. VoiD.net is a 2D platformer that tries to take advantage of current technology for revisiting and expanding the platformer genre. It's being developed with Blitzmax.

- What is it... not?

It's not retro or a remake. No "classic" control or feel.

It's not all about jumping down on enemies and collecting coins or rings. No random items floating around. It tries to make the player feel inside a (somewhat) coherent world.

The objective of the game is not get to the end of the level to find out the princess is in another castle.
Note: I love oldies like Mario Bros and Sonic! - It's not that they're not great games, but this game isn't aiming at that!

- Features?

At this point you'll have figured out VoiD.net has a big adventure component, and this heavily influences the gameplay. It has some RPG aspects (character levelling, skills / "magic") and even tactical wargame or fighting games ones.
Let's say I try to mix what I liked most of each (2D) genre into a platformer. This is the result:

High-res 32bit, hardware accelerated graphics (supporting OpenGL & DirectX currently; probly DX support will be discontinued).

VoiD Engine scripting language for developing customizable campaigns.

Deep immersion in the sci-fi world of Void through ingame narrative, playable cutscenes, "alive" game maps and npcs...

Up to 5 selectable characters at the same time in the player party.

Fast paced control system, designed for heavy action scenes.

Vehicles, some controlable by the player.

Levelling system for characters.

- Personal note

I've been into development (on my own) for more than 2 years, and I know I still have long ways to go. The game has evolved a lot since its first form and has become somewhat complex.
This may sound crazy for just one dev, but I have my reasons. It's a very personal project, because I see it as my "ultimate freeware game" before starting to think more... commercial.
Instead, they fend off waves of monsters in order to survive for longer than their enemies.

Hollow Ground

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/hollowground/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Hollow Ground is a one or two-player tactical arcade game taking place in a post-apocalyptic future. Four mercenaries have to make an unwelcome journey to rid a war-weary world of a new threat of extinction, a terrible biomechanical weapon of mass destruction.
On the way you have to battle armies of mutated creatures while navigating through the labyrinthine tunnels of the Epsilon bunker. You will find weapons to aid your quest, and credit chips for use in the shops that appear between levels. The more than 60 maps appear in a somewhat random order to enhance re-playability. The blend of old-school arcade action and true focus on tactics is what sets this game apart from an ordinary shooter.

Heresy War

http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/game/HWar/?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=rss

Currently in development, Heresy War is a combat space simulator that focuses on delivering a completely immersive experience for both casual and hardcore gamers alike.
Storyline
In the year 64AD (after the Great Fire of Rome) Nero built the Domus Aurea (or "Golden House"). This is the story that is known. The story that is not common is the secret that the Domus Aurea hides and of your adventures within.

It is now 5 September 476 AD and yesterday Romulus Augustus was deposed (history will show that he will not be replaced). During Rome's fall stories of a powerful secret hidden within the catacombs of the Domus Aurea have surfaced, and being the curious type that you are, you have set out to find the truth or fiction of them.
